Figures I would start to drool over some mods the right after server update when they are currently in a bunk state.

I really want to try running the Buildcraft mod and the SteamCraft Mod together I hope they are compatible; and also the industrial craft mod if it is compatible; but I would say that the steamcraft is most essential to play with first for me.

Also...with 1.6.5 I've noticed it keeps telling me my copy is unlicensed or logged in at another location. Has anyone had this message?

Industricraft adds LOADS of stuff. Tried it, but it added too much so i removed it.

Best thing to do for looking at mods that I have found so far is going on the minecarft wiki where there is a big list of mods and links to where they can be found on the minecraft forums.

-Steamcraft is a Steampunk themed mod that adds lots of new ores and nifty craftable items.

-Buildcraft adds pipes that will transfer things to stoves and automatic crafting tables from chests and mine-machines so you can do things as a huge ground to finished product automated operation.

-Industrial Craft is pretty much as Timmystwin described as a massive craftable item addon.

Sad face for me though my graphics card is as near as I can figure only able to run minecraft through the browser which means that I can't run mods until I get a new computer; When I get a new computer I won't likely come back to minecraft for awhile because I will have so much to catch up on and so much new stuff to play with.

edit @_marsh_: grow trees on top of those trees until you top out the map.

Guess it didn't stop here as we're now at patch 1.6.6. According to Notch, this should be the last patch for 1.6.

Didn't seem to break the mods as poorly as 1.6.5 and 1.6.4 did.

I love the mods that add terrain features and commands, but im not a fan of adding whole new things, they just make the beautiful simplicity of the game more complex. Adding redstone tools is cool, and maybe 1 more ore. But thats my limit.

Gotta admit the mods look cool tho.

I do not care either way whether or not copper or tin ore are included because even though they are basic and easy to mine ores in real life, Minecraft is not very realistic and IndustrialCraft adds them.

It would be funny if IndustrialCraft made a new recipe of 1 copper:1 bronze:3 refined iron:4 iron (or 3 iron, 1 coal) to make "Miracle Metal," a shiny turquoise (or even a cobalt blue) metal that makes all machines work twice as good.

A good idea is to keep an eye on http://bukkit.org/

They never release a Recommended Build until they get it completely stable and working with Minecraft. With 1.6 passing through five patches in quick succession, they never had a chance to get everything stable. At least til 1.6.6 came out.

Once it hits that stage, you know the current client version of Minecraft is good.

And everyone knows that every server owner who is worth their salt don't update as soon as a new build for Minecraft comes out.
