CXL "UN"?

 I've been looking around a little at SCJU and been dreaming about something similar with Cities XL.

All though I think it may not grow as big as that, since CXL never will get as big as SC4.

We could have a democracy, where evry member can vote for different things, like "president" of the union, where to have something like the Olympic Games, maybe a international space agancy etc. etc.

Is there anyone who would like the same thing, and is there maybe someone who knows a thing or two about building a official site/forum?

That is an idea I also have been fiddling around, and I think it's great! Forumotion could be an option, you can set up a forum for free and enhance it (custom name, etc.) paying an amount via PayPal.

We could set up a community and make a Wiki about the countries, (using Wikia instead) and as you said vote for a president and set up some kind of trade (like PO, eg. you are exporting X tokens and another nation is buying them).

Hope this will become something!

Yes a place on Simtropolis would be awesome! GlobexCo? And about the name I was thinking something more to have with "Union" since maybe the trade can be a later part of this union. Maybe International Union of Cities XL (IUCXL) since it's for the CXL community? Any ideas are welcome!

But I dont wanna go to far with anything untill we have some people with us. I've posted a short description and a link to this thread on generation and I'll do the same on Cities XS later tonight and I hope this really could be something!

Awesome! Well like I said we need someone who knows some basic site building if we should have some kind of "official" website, where we can have events, news, maybe a wiki and a forum.

well... maybe the first thing to do is to lay down some rules on applications, like what you should have, if there should be a voting on whom to let in. Also there's the question about if we should have a Union with our cities or some imaginary countries our citise are in. I would actually prefer the later one?

Definitely the latter. You can make your city independent aswell.

If we start here at simtropolis we already have a base. Many players who know about ST and have CXL registered here, so if we start here we have more chance of succes.

Could you post your application form here? Your document is a newer version than mine. =(

We could also PM Dirk about it, maybe he can create a whole new section. Otherwise we can post an Application Thread where non-members can post their applications and members vote... Just an idea.

The different to the metropolists is, that this was a trading union, which doesn't worked because of limited memberspaces and the demotivation of most of the players.

This here will be something like a open political union, when I understood the topicstarter right.

If it's ok with everyone I'm going to put together a little startgroup(alliance) and open a thread where you can post your application and we (the starting group) will vote and let everyone know.

I think this is a good way to get started, and later when we are bigger we maybe have something of our own here on ST or to be optimistic our own official website.

If you want to use Simtropolis, we can create a pinned topic in the City Journals section...

Then if the thing becomes bigger, I'm sure some of the admins can create a special room (it shouldn't be so difficult).

EDIT: Also, check my sig for a city I starting working on in wiki format. It didn't work out. But I've seen stuff likes this done on Wikia, and I say it is the best option.

There used to be a Union (back in the good ol' day), named UoP, Union of Planets.

We had like 90 members..

Eventually, it just fell apart because of lack of interest..
