Aside from the tree (minor problem) you might check your proportions, cause they look a bit off...for example window, in general, look too large...

As for the tree, it would be better to get rid of it...really.

The bricks nee dto be desaturated and made smaller, there is no way the bricks would be that large :)

Bricks are much better in my opinion, look less cartoony. Keep working away, you are improving.

Bricks do look less cartony, but unfortunately the building as a whole doesn't, because of wonky proportions...if you care about this building (as it seems, since you are spending some time on it), then why don't fixing such a basic thing?

It's not a problem of scale (e.g. how big something is in itself), but of proportions (e.g. how big an element is if compared to another element).

This image is taken from Jason's tutorial called "deriving dimensions"

brutalistmodelingpropor.jpg

It shows you how things are related between themselves by using a grid (right side of the pic.For example, the window is tall 1,5 times it's widht...so the ratio between window height and widht is of 3/2.The space between one window and another is equal to the widht of one window, so the ratio between those two measures is 1:1.

When i speak about proportions, i speak about those ratios, or more precisely, about the ratios of your BAT compared with the ratios between the measures of the RL building. They look quite different, honestly.

You should get them right, or the building won't look like the RL one, which is probably what you're aiming for. That's why i'm so vocal about them.

I think that pretty much everything on your model might benefit from a ratio check...for example, the ratio between the window widht and the widht of the wall between them isn't generally the one you can see in the existing building, the windows are probably too large for their height, and too big in general if compared to the wall area...those are the things i notice the most while looking at your model.

Preach it, brotha Francis!

Your building will never look right if you don't match up the proportions.

If you don't mind me asking, why are some of the trees all messed up in the scale department? I'm not talking in terms of height or size, I'm talking x=100, y=250, z=100. Not just the overhanging one either (which some people say is cut in half) but the dark green and red ones on the other side of the complex too, they seem seriously out of whack and oddly blurry.

Regardless of how the building may look, to pull off the desired effect it's really important that you get those trees right. They're definitely not a minor problem, even if easily fixed. The two threes that aren't stretched look really nice though.

In the latest preview, the bricks look great to me. The windows do seem too large for the building though, might be some scale issues going on there as others have already said.

One last thing, the turquoise wizard hat thing on top of the tower might need to be looked at. The texture isn't quite as convincing as it should be.
