You may need to update your game.  See HERE for nightlights and many other common problems.

By the way:  Your signature image is too big, see HERE for allowed dimensions.

Try taking out your plugins folder. Drag it from your documents folder to your desktop. Then see if the problem is still there. If you want to put the plugins back in, copy it, don't drag.

I assume you have the BAT night light update? If not, download from the link that jim linked.

You may need to turn your game from day to night once again. See if that works.

Good luck! ^^

P.S: And please tell me you don't play that fail game Runescape! *shudder*

That's because most probably you're not doing it right.

here is a check list, of sorts:

First of all some of the updates (EPU1) are region sensitive - there are several different versions of SC4 targeted for sale in different parts of the world. This is a key - not to the region where YOU are and just happens to have some copy of SC4, but the region to which this copy was supposed to be sold.

Second you need another update 1.1.640.0 this is exactly the update that enables lighting on custom content.

An, of course, you can't use any of the "No CD" patches, and naturally pirated versions wouldn't work either. They all use cracked EXE that is based on the original, not updated, one.

if you right-click, select "properties", then check the "version" tab for simcities .exe file, what does it say? I expect you have not patched it properly.

Ok, I guess you should to update the game to version 1.1.640.0 so you can see the night lights in BAT otherwise you won't see them.

The update in the link of that thread updates the game to 1.1638 or something that's why the night lights didn't appear to us.

Edited to combine multiple posts. You can use the "Edit" button to add to your own posts rather than posting repeatedly only a few minutes apart.

This version number has come up once in a while, and I think I remember seeing you might need to install the sku_2 patch instead of sku_1. You might try it to see if it updates to 1.1.638. If it works, you can then apply the night lights patch.

If you made a copy of a legitimate CD, it should.

I am not an expert on these things as I'm only indirectly involved in these matters.. I have no reason to run a "copy" as I have the CD and it's just not a problem for me. But I believe this statement is wrong. The "read process" is managed by the copy protection program. If you make a copy of the CD it WILL NOT patch correctly. I am 99.9% certain this is true in all cases. If someone has an example of an exception, I'd love to see it.

10's of thousands of folk have gone through this process, so it definitely works. I'd suggest uninstalling your SC4 Deluxe and start over again... carefully following a guide.. perhaps Buggi's (updates and nightlights part) or perhaps Greyveil's (first part) Don't know what else to tell you.  Patch immediately after install before doing ANYTHING custom.
