Uexplainable Pollution...

Well, In my city Araluen (it's a CJ) I have had no pollution, and pretty much a perfect city. Mostly because the 1 1/2 gigs of plugins i have help me with that.

The Radical Demand Ordinance, or something like that, gives you tons of different ordinances, one of which is one that eliminates all pollution.

I have that, selected, and for over 100 years in game it has worked. But, suddenly, pollution spiked. I checked the graphs, and well.. In 1 year, no pollition, then suddenly pollution is at the highest it can be.

I tried a few things in game to eliminate it, but nothing seems to work. The pollution is constant throughout the city. It's at the worst it can be, and well now I have no city to work with. The city went from 150k residents, to barely 23k.

I'm hoping someone from simtropolis can help..

Sounds like your ordinance expired.  Did you delete a building that was eating pollution?  If you do that, all the pollution that was suspened by the building comes back.

Also, if you are running for over 100 Sim-years, you are probably running in Cheetah.  Why?  This game has no winning end-point, so you might as well enjoy the scenery.  Try running in Rhino.  It is more relaxing, and you don't have to have an instant city.  It will get there, and you'll have more fun fixing problems on the way.

Well you see, I develop areas, in normal speed, or pause. Make sure everything looks good, zone then click cheetah. let it develop a while, click normal speed and continue with the process. Also, I didn't have a pollution eating building/park, since the ordinance was working fine lol, so what could be the problem?

Have you tried looking at the Area Graph so you can see where the pollution is coming from?

Maybe one of the radical Ordinances does the exact opposite? See if there was a readme with the Mod or something.

I highly doubt that, I've had this mod, for about 1 1/2 years, and well.. This has never happened before.

I haven't downloaded any new mods, for over a year. Except for Nam, and Nam additions..

So, I don't know what it could be..

The same thing happened to me! But it wasn't after a certain amount of game years, it just did it in all my cities at once. I uninstalled/reinstalled the plugin this morning, but haven't had a chance to see if it worked. I'll check and let you know what happened.

Ok, DON'T do that!!! It did nothing by destroy my city! My city went from a pop. of 380,000 to 76,000 in 2 game months! (Thank goodness for Exit Without Saving! lol) But there are "air purifiers" you can download. Such as slipher98's "Hexaco Air Purifier". (it shows as a big, brown box but it's better than nothing. plus its the only one i could find. Btw, don't delete it once you place it. The same thing that happened with the ordinance will happen again.) I think there are also Water purifiers on the STEX. Hope this helps!

Edit: I found a better one!

Also, While expirementing, I found the Ordinance, did work, It just reverted to it's original capacity.. Meaning that instead of eliminating all pollution, it took away only a certain amount..

Ok. Don't use the one I said was better. It looks better, but doesn't work. Sorry. You can try, it may work for you. If it does, let me know, cause I really want it to work. lol.

    Hope I helped,

Well, whats the problem with it?

Does it become dilapidated? Or abondoned?

If so, read the Read-Me, it will help 9.gif

lol! Dont worry, I never read the read-me either. And now, even when I do, it still doesn't work. It doesn't dilapidate/abandon, it just doesn't help with pollution. At all. It produces water and power like it's supposed to, but does nothing for pollution.

It should be noted that anti-pollution mods work by putting pollution out-put to a negative number. If this negative number is too high (unsure what that number is, possibly about 65500 since I think that is as high as the hex codes in SC4 go) the game rounds the number to the positive side.

If you ever use a "anti-pollution" lot, or mod, you must continue to use it.  Once you stop using it you will get the situation you describe.  Make sure the mod you used is still operational.
