    I have no mods and I don't really understand them.

    Will this mod negatively affect the way the game performs?  I understand adding stuff usually slows things down, but are there also things that make the game run better?

    I see that you can choose which features to use.  Are any of the features inherently 'exploits or cheats?'  Are the 'exploits or cheats' automatically enabled?

    I apologize for my ignorance, and thank you for your answers.

    zwr100 - Some mods do, like the extra plaza's mod causes most of my buildings not to work, and extra building mods have the same effect. I can however tell you for sure that the "larger plaza zoning" and "Sandbox" mods work without problem or slowing the game down.

    Hello and sorry for the delay.

    No, this mod won't slow the game. Nor it will take more time to load (or at least not so much!).

    With this mod you won't add things, but make visible some things you have already in your game.

    Cheats are in the sandbox mode made by Moaku. No cheats are included in the Unlocker mod, it simply adds features that were hidden before...

    Hello, I joined simtropolis just to get the unlocker mod. I have successfully installed v2. I later found out that there is a v3. I download it in half a second, extract, then run the setup. But when I run the installer all I get is that it cannot write the file. This happens for every single file, ending up with nothing being installed.

    Do you use Windows Vista/7, as in (I though) the read-me, it suggests to run it as administrator.

    Ok...

    after a break, I'm (quite) back.

    I'm testing a whole new set of mods. I want to further expand the "plop philosophy" by providing more and more things to be plopped where you want.

    I started with boats a while ago, and given the success of that mod, I want to use the idea again and again.

    The new set of ploppable things (which will be splitted in many little mods, to help people who want to choose features) is now in first development phase; but it's easy for me to do. So expect a "flood" at the end of October, when I'll be able to really play CXL2011.

    However, I'll post here updates and pictures (to prepare the ground 3.gif ).

    And I can start with this:

    - farms are empty and dead (talking about animations and details), so the first pack will include farm-oriented things to plop around (trucks and so on) to add details to your rural areas

    - parkings are good, but not modular. New plazas mod adds a good parking texture, but it looks empty without cars! So the second pack will include some (I repeat: SOME) cars to plop.

    - more to be planned...

    Check the modding index (or the first page of this thread), Kiwispanker did a mod to plop trains.

    Unfortunately they're actors (animations can be easier to understand) and not models... so they will disappear sometimes and won't be visible with a small zoom.

    GlobexCo,

    When I add your Version 3 Unlocker mod, it removes the harbor from the intercity selection of items to build on an island map.

    Please could you check this and maybe fix this?

    What I did to find what mod is causing the harbor to not show up?

    1. Remove all mods from game, run game, harbor building shows up in intercity selection.

    2. Add in just the GlobexCo Unlocker vs 3 mod, start game, now only airport, waterway and Hangar buildings show up in the intercity menu choices, NO harbor.

    3. Remove GlobexCo Unlocker vs 3 again, run game and now harbor show up in the intercity menu like it should on maps that have only water surrounding the land.

    Globexco, whats the news with v4? Version 3 caused critical errors starting the game.

    Dont even really wanna play 2011 until the unlocker mod is released.

    ok, I'm quite busy at the moment, but here's my plan for the unlocker mod v4:

    this weekend I should start to write the new mod...

    since many things changed in the new game, I'll have to write it again from scratch.

    Consider minimum one month... it has to be tested a lot - and I don't know if I'll find a workaround for a lua problem I found (basically at the moment I can't mod menus)

    However I'll update soon my other mods...

    GlobexCo, your unlocked should have been made into the actual game its that important.

    If you need help with anything let me know, sooner you get this done, sooner lots of us will be happy.

    Development of the new unlocker officially started...

    My first point in the todo list is the class mod. Remove population limits, unlock content, add secret buildings, add townhalls and things like this.

    This is what I did today:

    no great news, but I found three interesting things:

    Hollywood signs:

    Yes, but the skiers are skiing upwards instead of downwards, aren't they?

    Am I going right when I think that there are 4 skilifts? A monocable gondola detachable, a skilift (detachable POMA version...), a chairlift and which is the 4th?

    That is amazing! I am glad that they did not remove the GEM buildings. I have CXL LE and CXL 2011. Does that mean I keep my Limited Edition buildings or does that mean everyone (with CXL 2011) has access to them?

    i have used your unlock mod for cities xl 2009 and i have make good use for it,,

    but on cities xl 2011 wil the v2 and the v3 unlock mod not work i don't now of i did something wrong or the mod's don't work on cities xl 2011.

    plz help me with my problem i need the mod....

    Only V4 work with Cites XL 2011. A lot of the buildings unlocked in v2 and v3 were included in Cities XL 2011.

    but the best part have the leave out .. that you van build everyware oil and wather.

    but i have to wait till v4 of the mod...

    Yes, you're right, Oliver. I can do some pictures if you'd like.

    They did remove gem buildings... I had to restore things from 2009 edition.

    Many of the limited edition buildings are still locked in new game... but players can use now most of the LE content with 2011 game.

    news news news:

    I found new buildings, and a new zoning tool:

    I put the new zoning tools in Hi-tech T4 menu...

    The implemented a way to zone fixed buildings (not random ones as it is now), here's a picture:

    (industry zoning: parking, fuel, water and many indrustries)

    in the pictures there's also a new office tower, a new museum and a new hospital

    There are 660 locked things, and at least half of them are locked buildings... so prepare for the biggest unlcoker ever!
