that depends what sort of Mac that is. I mean if it is any of the Intel macs then you can run any windows programs if you install first BootCamp and then Windows and said programs. If it is all (with PowerPC CPU, then you're out of luck)

No the simple answer is no.

First of all you'll absolutely need to have GMAX as this is the only program that runs those scripts (called BAT) that creates the basic Sc4Modle file. 3ds Max can created one part of it - FSH files - images you actually see in game. With some perseverance, I believe, it could be possible to drop GMAX and limit all to just 3ds Max. But to step away from it to some entirelly new 3d application - which in theory could do the same thing - there is nothing unique MAXian there, would mean someone should write the whole scripts in a language that program supports. Say MEL for Maya, since it runs on Macs.

But even then, if you really Have pre-Intel Mac (mind you some of those white mac Books do have Intel CPUs as well, and os X - is not a proof of anything) than you may as well forget it , it would be too weak to actually handle any modern 3d app. I doubt you'll even find one that would work on it at all, I bet they all would demand Intel CPU
