I don't want to hijack this thread, but some months ago I tried another Gigapan, in this case, from Paris in 26 gigapixels. You can see it here [link].

In both cases, you can be hours and hours staring at the city...

Wow these are great i have a few panorama's of a few cities

A 4.5Mb Panorama of Chongqing in China

A 1Mb Panorama of Manila

A 2Mb Panorama of Seoul

A 3Mb Panorama of Shanghai

And this huge Panorama of central Tokyo
