Expansion Pack Changes

 Hello,

I'm using the Deluxe version of the game finally! I'm loving it so far, but there are A LOT of changes!

I like how there is an upgraded building version for almost everything (saves space!)

Most importantly though, some things seem to have changed. Demand seems to favor Industrial growth more now. Either that or the Demand Caps on Residential and/or Commercial have changed. Can anyone comment on this? My R and C demands are well below norms from what i'm used to on Vanilla SimSity 4.

Just wondering, thanks guys!

p.s. I forgot to mention i'm playing on the Hard Difficulty. I'm used to having only $100,000 anyway lol

I take it you have played the original SimCity 4.  Well, with Deluxe, a lot of things are different.  Have you looked at your tax panel.  The base rate is now 9%.  If you want to get a real handle on all this, go and have a skim through the Omnibus.  I think you will get all your questions answered, and a lot more too.

If you're having problems you could always cheat and download a demand mod. Gets lots of stuff built really quickly!

Well, i'm continuing my city and so far so good. I've had to change up the way I play.

Right now i'm just having a ton of fun. I love letting the simulation go on for years while I do stuff around the house, it's like my city is growing and thriving all the while

I've got a question. So far I have 50k people, with lots of demand left on a medium map. All i have for education atm is elementary schools and libraries. My EQ is at 160...are high schools and above even required? My education on the opinion polls are maxed so i've just ignored the rest of the education system for now and am saving my budget for other stuff.

Any thoughts?

I think those elementary schools are k-16.  Other stuff may help the decor, but are not strictly necessary.  You might be surprised with what you get with only a branch library and the reading ordinance.  This game merely requires patience, probably more than kids have these days.  Because of this we have cheats like demand modds.  I don't use them, but I do use buggi's .dll cheat module.  Sometimes moolah is the only way to continue.
