Opinions on my first lot

This is my first lot so please be gentle. I'm wanting opinions on ways to improve it before I upload it.

It's a big box mart. You know, big store (4X4 lot), low wages (CS$), low jobs (Don't know how many yet).

I created it using gmax and textures from cgtextures. Here's how it looks...

There are supposed to be people in the lot, but they didn't show up yet.

And the back...

And at night...

That's it for now. I'm going to wait a few days so I can get opinions then we'll have part 2 (the improvements).

Thanks in advance.

that looks spectacular, but I would recommend making the nightlighting a bit darker. Great potential though!

This is a great start for a first BAT but there are two things that you could change. One of them is the pink border around the roof. It looks good but it needs a texture. Right now it just looks like a plain pink box which doesnt match well with the rest of the color scheme, The only other thing that bothers me is the texture ou used on the blue curved roof. It just doesnt seem right. A roof like that in real life would usually be a solid color. You wouldnt notice lines like in yours.

Overall its a great BAT and with a few fixies it would be ready to release.

The roof texture needs work because it is creating squares on the roof.

Here are some things you can do which I think would make it better:

- Delete the ducts from the roof.  Delete the big roof junk parts, except for the two that are grouped together.  Leave the little vent/drain things.  Right now the roof junk looks sort of randomly scattered across the roof, but it should look a little more logical.

- Make the pink parapet wall/cornice (parapet walls are the part of the wall that extends above the roof) thinner.  In real life exterior walls are about 1 foot thick which is about .3 meters.  Try to think, if this were a real building, how far the pink part would stick out from the blue wall.  If the pink part overhangs 2 feet (~.6 m), and the wall itself is .3 meters, then the pink part should be about .9 meters wide.  If you think it should stick out about 6 inches, then the pink part should be about .45 meters wide.  Right now the pink part comes across as sort of clunky.

- The red things (the ones that prevent people from driving their cars into the store, I forget what they're called) are really thick.  I would make those somewhere between .2 and .3 meters wide.  In real life they're thinner than that, but there aren't enough pixels to show something that small, so sometimes details need to be exaggerated for BATs.

- The benches are also very big.  Usually in real life, seats are about 1.5 feet off the ground.

- You've BATed the ground around the building.  But it looks like it wouldn't be hard to make the sidewalks in the lot editor.  In most cases, if you can, it's better to avoid BATing the ground.

Other than that I think the modeling is doing good.  The textures still need some work, but that should be worked on after the modeling.

Very good first LOT may i say. Everything has been said, but i think the nightlighting ends too abruptly. Other than those things, well done and good luck.
