help, only just got cities xl, registered and used a capital letter in my user name and it allowed me, but discovered that you can not use capitals!! can not play at all - what do i do?

Just a quick note.  Having exchanged a few emails with FHI on another matter, I brought this up.

Here's the reply:

About the support of the original Cities XL I will be honest, it will be very hard for us to do. Support for the 2009 game was handled by Monte Cristo Games, who, as you know, (sadly) disappeared. While we'll do our best to answer the inevitable questions that will rise, this is also a reason we need people from the community who have a good knowledge of the game.

They subsequently did say that product activation is a different matter and they weren't aware of problems with it.  They've since begin addressing these either informally in the tech support area of their new forum, or I think more appropriately at support@focus-home.com

Please don't take this as official notification - I'm just trying to be helpful.

Yep, I sent an e-mail with a tech question recently and they answered, redirecting me to the support section of the 2009 version in their forum. I took a look there and there are quite a few issues adressed already, like lost or invalid logins and passwords, as well as links to the solo patch witch is now required to start the game after reinstallation. So, anybody who has some sort of problem, especially concercning installation, might want to check there first, before posting a question to our forums.

Hi, sotangris, is this what you're talking about?  If not, do you have a link?  It was fairly difficult to find, but please let me know if that isn't it.

Yes Livin, that's it. I know it was difficult, I had never been there before my contact with Focus Home, and I had already done some posting in that forum.....

Anyway, Globex has a direct link in the 'Technical issues FAQ'  to the latest patch which is required currently to start CXL upon reinstallation. I'll post it here also.

If you need to contact Focus Home about any game issues:

They're a little slow currently, due to the recent launch, but soon the situation should get better.

If you have any issues with downloading CXL 2011 (non-Steam downloads), activating it, or using CD keys, you should contact Metaboli (the online distributor), not FC, at this site:

Once there, use the option 'Ask a question' , and then 'Contact an agent'.

Again, due to the flood of requests they might abswer a little late as of now. Should get better in the future.
