Computer powers off every time I play SimCity4 & Rush Hour

I just installed this to my Dell computer yesterday.  As I try to build a city, the computer powers off about every 5 minutes.  I am getting tired of saving data and re-logging on to continue.  I tried closing one of my processors, but this did not help.  I am running the game on Windows Vista.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you be any more specific about your computer's specs, driver dates, plugins for sim city?

I seriously doubt that is due to SC4. It doesn't cause system shutdown. You said "installed".. does that mean just basic SC4 without custom content?

Dell is notorious for putting low power PSU's (as low as 300W) in their computer unless you specify the one you want.. that may be your issue. Also make sure your computer isn't over heating.

My computer had a 200w until it burned out. It ran fine. Now mine has a 400 and it runs exactly the same. Try running it in compatibility mode for WinXP.

Just to update I am running 800W+ and probably currently only max the power to 600W and get the same problem on Windows 7.
