I apologize for the looong timelapse here but here is a new update of Branhattan! Yes, I have come into Thread Necromancy now.

The Park Developers are dissappointed with what City Council has decided what should be done about the park expansion and for the people who did not want to be moved. The Council decided that the park additions could only be built if the building owners and residents are willing to sell there structure. Of course some were willing...but not alot. The investment was seen now as not one of the best ones as the original plan was completely trashed, but It's nice to see a few more trees in the city-

    241jvcn.jpg

Above, you can see a small block that was turned into parkgrounds. Just one of the few blocks that were willing. A soccerfield was added, and has become quite a popular spot for Highschool Soccer Games in Branhattan and the cities close by. Toll Booths were also added by the city. The real intent of these was to decrease traffic near the park to help make it seem more quiet and more green. From the looks of things, I guess it's working.

    2iiwfx4.jpg

Another view of a block turned into some more park grounds. This gives quite a view to look down upon from the neighboring towering structures. A train is about to pass one of the many stations in the city and pass one of Branhattan's famous museums of Modern Art(partially seen in the upper right corner the rounded building). You can see some residents are enjoying the new additions.

    oobjm.jpg

Parks aside, we see a beautiful night view of the mid-district of the city, with the famous Branhattan Central Station in the view. In the lower right corner, the Chrystal Building glistens at night like a...chrystal so to say. Beautiful night don't you think? The residents think so.

    2hcq2xh.jpg

In an area of the Central Business District, we find a common intersection of the city. Peeking out behind one of the WTC Towers, a castle like structure named Television Row Arms(originally named the Castle Palazo) was built during the demolition of Television Row. Many former residents moved in shortly after its completion so that they wouldn't have to move far from their original home. Many of the residents to this day are descendants of the original TV Row people(as well as some elderly being actual former residents).

    2v1uvix.jpg

Lastly, we see one of the corners around town with quite a mix of architecture. Which this picture concludes today's update. I hope ya'll enjoy this!

dfnva- Thank you very much! I try too mix it up a bit with what I download. I work hard to keep areas unique and hopefully ruin the chances of repitition.

Benedict- Thanks and it's good to be back! The way the Chysler Building was illuminated all ready made it perfect for the photo editing. I'm glad you liked it. 4.gif

Schulmanator- I come to bring goodies. 9.gif

Aaron Graham- Thanks! I still played the region occasionaly despite the lack of updates here.

Stanislav Soltys- Thank you! I hope there is tears of joy now! 3.gif

    Update

This update is coming a tad late at night but I've got some stuff to show from the city across Branhattan: Joisy City.

    2wfk7it.jpg
Joisy City, across the Grississippi River, shares architectural stylings and culture of Branhattan due to how close the city is and that they are in the same Parish. Immigrants to the Nation of Prosperous who wanted to come to Branhattan often mistaked Joisy City as another part of the large city or a suburb of it. Some say its a cheap way to get a feel of Branhattan(not that it's expensive to come here of course...3.gif)

    11l31us.jpg
Though, some architecture and culture is quite similar, the environment of Joisy City is not. There is still plenty of preserved areas, though Joisy is quite urban, through out the town. Here, we see some woodland areas next to the LeJoise River or the "Joisy Ditch" as it's nicknamed by the locals. This is where most urban residents come to get a woodland feel. People camp and fish in this area. Hunting however, is very restricted and limited to certain areas.
    fef1qv.jpg
More of some of the woodland area next to a part of Joisy. Some horses are visible in the lower right corner.

    71tq9c.jpg
Night view of another woodland area next to the city. The tall apartment building's residents get favored views of the woods.

    160v9x.jpg
The close-by forests aren't the only thing that distinguishes Branhattan and Joisy. A famous Landmark in Joisy is the glistening Archway. The landmark is the symbol of Joisy City and is often a favored view from the Branhattan World Trade Center. The Archway has a significance on the people of Joisy City.

And that my friends concludes this update.

WOW!!! great pictures and I am so happy to see one of my creations in your city. Yes, I love this first picture. I have notice you do not use the NAM or don't have any NAM road way is that?

Evillions- Thank you! I'll try to keep the updates coming as many as I can! 3.gif

Benedict- I do like surprises and I hope you all do too. 4.gif Hopefully my good ol' days are returning.

wwetom1- Nice to see you back here and I like that picture too! 9.gif Well...of course I like them all...3.gif

Aaron Graham- I've actually have had that building(and another one I think) grow often in my cities. And you brought up a good question. I've tried to incorporate NAM and and the NWM a few times in my SC4 but have had the usual game crashings occasionally. Of course, I've tried to do what I can to fix it(and slowly and catiously install the NAM the first time too) but I haven't had much success. It could be that I have some conflicting file or something didn't install right. Anyway, I'll probably figure it out sometime soon. The NAM is quite genious and completely necessary to the custom content lover. 19.gif

    Update

I would have posted an update last night but had some trouble with my interweb. It's fine now so let's see what's up in my region this time-

    28baek3.jpg

A dense skyscraper cluster in the East Branhattan area. The black and grey tower(center) home to the Sofouran Bay Oil Company. A competitor to Pump & Scoot Gas Co. The Company has off-shore oil-rigs in the Sofouran Bay in Propserous.

    264nx3t.jpg

A more midrise area of East Branhattan. A happy-go-lucky sort of area. Fancy stuctures mix with less fancy buildings. Not an uncommon site in Branhattan's Development.

    v6oo7q.jpg

A snippit from the Port Side District(or Canal Side District). A large container ship is docked in one of Branhattan's busiest ports and industrial districts. The Port Side area is located along the Grississippi River. The river is a major trade route in the nation. Branhattan benefited quite a bit from this area.

    23ll6h3.jpg

A partial Region View image showing Branhattan and Joisy City. In the next update, I should probably show some of the official City and Parish boundaries in this province/state(still thinking on which I prefer...) of the region. If any of you want, you could try guessing which district(the ones I've mentioned) is where exactly. 5.gif

The Duke: Thank you! I'll see if I can show more of it in the next update. I didn't plan on showing much of it on this one. 2.gif

    Evillions: I wouldn't say very dense...well yes. Yes I would.3.gif

Benedict: Hmm, I guess that's what happens when I showed some less dense areas I suppose.

    Update

Being the holidays now, and that I'm off from busy hectic school, I'll can show some more updates! Yaazoo!

Just some more random "snipits" from different areas of Branhattan. Nothing to specific. Let's see what's up-

    2ryg6py.jpg

Towering apartments and row-apartments on the edge of Branhattan's eastside. Traffic is surprisingly not to bad around here. Pretty peaceful for those who would want to move in.

    2ed4n5w.jpg

A more buisness area on the edge, with a recently renovated structure standing out in the middle of the W2W buildings. Isn't it just pleasing to stroll along areas like this? 9.gif

    24vsacm.jpg

The Twin Bridges over in the Port Side District. Commuters crossing the bridges have the pleasure to occasionly view barges and large freight ships pass underneath. Another interesting site is that lighthouse that stands out from all the factories and warehouses. Currently, the Branhattan City Council are being pettitioned by Branhattan Industry to demolish it and replace the area with more rentable warehouses or factories with Industry demand being quite high.

    6gveb8.jpg

More mid-rise urbaness. A recent shiney mall was built over and old multi-floor coner store and the owners plan to have it attract more shoppers which will increase competition with other shopping stores very close by.

    2qm3ssx.jpg

While the sun is setting, we see one of the largest commercial buildings in the city overlook buildings near the Watergate and Central Business Districts. The Merchandise Mall(nicknamed- Big Mall of Stuff) was built in the mid 30's in part of Branhattan's race for the tallest. Though, it wasn't mentioned since its height wasn't notable for the race; other than its girth though.

    206bh8z.jpg

There's nothing like the nightlife in Branhattan. Here in part of the Central Business District, the busy non-stop workers type and type in their cubicles and ignore time flying by.

    2v7z3v9.jpg

More buildings filled with busy-bees. Current rentable space available: None.

Last but not least, a little snippit of a map of Branhattan and neighboring cities(so far)-

(bear with me I'm most likely not the best at these things 3.gif)

    14bhs1e.jpg

Cities of Branhattan(prominent in center) Joisy City(below Branhattan) Vaudville(mainly in lower right corner right of Joisy City) and Teramore(upper and lower left corner of soon to be developed land left of Joisy) of the Rapidas Parish of the Province of Yorksianna in Prosperous.

The thick blue line shows the main city boundaries. The light blue lines represent highways. The dark grey lines are roads. White lines are rail. Light green lines on land mark elevated rail. Dotted light green lines in the water represent ferry routes. Lighter purple areas are undeveloped land while the shaded purple areas are developed. Pink areas are parts of parks. Other things to note are the Anchors(being the Ports) and the WTC being marked.

I hope ya'll have enjoyed this update! Next, we will take a look at one of the airports(and some other things 2.gif)! Happy Holidays!

Really dense!!! I always get bored with high density in my cities. Hopefully, my current I stick with my current city and eventually it will grow upwards too instead of just sprawl. UP AND OUT!

    Keep it up!

SilverKiwi- Thanks! And my region population recently past up about 3,505,500 just about. It's probably around 3,510,000+ now. Most of the region population comes from the Branhattan City tiles.

    The Duke- Thank you!

Aaron Graham- Thanks, and I will!

Benedict- I love unique colors...congratulations on your Trixie!

I'm due for an update...And I would like to thank you all for nominating me for a Trixie about my CJ! I wasn't expecting being nominated around that range. Thank you guys and I'm glad your enjoying my Cities. 39.gif

First, I wanted to show the Airport, but I'll show a sneak peek pic since I'm not entirely finished, please give me some criticism and suggestions so far. I'm new to the ol' modular airports. 3.gif

    qs00ly.jpg

This airport is located near the town of Allvel, which is a small town west of Joisy(I think 3.gif)

And now some more images from Branhattan itself!

    143dyer.jpg

A classic view- Branhattan Fortress Park. A beauty at the water's edge of Branhattan, near the Central Business and Water Gate Districts. Some buildings have changed nearby since ya'll have last seen it. Just a result of Branhattan's constant development and re-development as a result of its booming economy.

    4jqf5y.jpg

A new sculpture recently graced Branhattan, the Skylon, it towers above its plaza below and is quite a sight to see across from the crowed apartments and condos.

    34rt9fl.jpg

Neighboring Complexes next to the Central Business District. Hospitals, Colleges, Offices, and more condos and apartments. Branhattan boasts itself as its own "Land of Opurtunity" compared to the other cities in the nation of Prosperous. The city is quite a start and experience to any new young adult ready to head out in the world. Anyone interested in some Branhattan School lore?

    epqiz6.jpg

A typical section of the city, some pedestrians attempt to cross in front of cars parked on the road awaiting the next light to change.

Lastly, Branhattan's press is pushing an interview with the current mayor of Branhattan to discuss the city's current economic status, its economic future, and his recent push for revitalization to what he calls "wasted-development" in certain outskirts of the city. Soon to come!

I hope ya'll enjoyed this update! More to come!
