So you going to make the park larger, thats good so the children can have more room to run around as the population in the city gets larger.

Simple...knock down the boring buildings and build around the landmarks! The stadium can be incorporated into the park just like Citi Field is considered to be a part of Flushing Meadows park in Queens, NY.

Destroy a baseball stadium to expand a park, blasphemy! Nice updates I like the times squaresque area. Looks like I'm going to have to check back on this page more often, I missed several updates.

The park can expand, as no one says it must be rectangular. It can go around historic buildings worthy of preservation which would then be in a covenanted historic district.

bixel- Yep. It sure is. Funny thing is, I'm not even done with the city. 3.gif Then I have to finish the Metro Area with the other cities. 46.gif But I'll enjoy every painstaking/advisor popping/underfunding/constant zoning and rezoning/expensive/cheating/developming minute of it! XD

    wwetom1- Thanks for the opinion!

Aaron Graham- Yea, part of the idea City Council thought about with the proposal.

gio10469- Interesting idea, makes me want to go on google earth and look at that area in Queens.

redrummage- Exactly what many baseball fans are thinking in Branhattan right now! 9.gif

    x493x- Thanks!

Schulmanator- Thanks, that's definately a good idea there! I wonder why the Park Developers weren't originally thinking about that. 3.gif

MayorAwesome- Thanks for your thoughts too!

I of course thought about what I really wanted to do with the park, but I wanted to hear some other thoughts. 4.gif We'll see what happens. In the meantime I have an update for you all!

City Hall Council is currently ammending the Expansion Proposal from the original rectangle foot print. However, very few buildings will be saved from demolition. Though there are new and currently being built or about to be built apartments and housing, most sims aren't happy with being relocated for the park expansion. Other citizens aren't happy with the current roads going to be demolished to make room for the park too. They say that'll cause more traffic and traffic noise which is a major problem in most of the streets of Branhattan.

    cityhall.jpg

Here, in the late afternoon, we can see some sims protesting at City Hall about the expansion of the park demolishing their homes and work. Local police are on stand by in case the protesting gets out of hand. There are there mainly since local teenagers and young adults have been pulling of pranks and vandalising Government Property as another form of protesting against being relocated as of demands of developers.

The sims would rather there be more parks being built than expanding Branhattan City Park, since many residents live and work within the new Park Boundaries. However, most of that is still being debated. Though, City Council released a statement saying that the Baseball stadium is definately being saved.

However, not all Sims are protesting-

    plaza.jpg

At the Branhattan World Trade Center, a kiosk opened up to accept donations to those being re-located or going to be out of work, "for a short while..." says City Council. Some protesters showed up to assist the charity than protest, showing signs to attract donations.

That concludes today's short update. Stick around for more to come!

The citizens of Branhattan should not be mad about the park expansion, they would not like it if there children were playing in the crouded streets of Branhattan and end up getting hit by a car.

Hmmm... a lot of fussing about the park... maybe the park could be in a few sections with pedestrian overpasses to allow for better traffic flow...

Reminds me of the movie PCU, where the students protest the fact that they are not going to protest.

Hey guys, unfortunately I have no update after all this time. Real Life ya know, can be hectic and busy. 3.gif

Well I'm starting to lose interest in this short CJ so I'm not sure if I'll keep updating it. I may, may not...it depends on my mood. But thank you all for following so far, though I'm not sure yet if I want to continue it or not, we'll see.

Aaron Graham- It's not all citizens, just the ones that are..."in the way" as the Park Developers say.

    MayorAwesome- Thanks!

gio10469- Thanks and aren't we all glad it's spared? 9.gif

    Schulmanator- That's an idea there!

    redrummage- LOL

I'm still ya know, working on the city and region but I'm getting a little lazy with some things and I'm getting interest in another Idea I have on another region...We'll see what happens.

Oh, wow, looks very well developed. I agree with Benedict: a huge 'natural-looking' park maybe on the upper side of the picture would be great. Or maybe one at the branch stream in the lower left lined with some old mansions... this would be really historic 16.gif

Anyways, looking very much forward to more, Brandon, and take care,

    René
