Well, it's kinda hard to decide really. I name my regions and cities on the landscape, so could you show us a picture of it first? Then i'll suggest!

Allright sounds good. I like to see newbies cities. It is a really fun game. Let me tell you about nations (regions)

First of all, the nation you are trying to create are called regions. And every region has blocks on it you use to build cities. You can start a new region, name it, terraform it bits and pieces at a time if you don't like the default regions. Now when you are creating a city, it's terraforming quality plays a role in developement as well. If you are looking into a metropolis, you will prbably need as flat a land as possible. But for mountain towns, they can be placed in mountains and thrive, but a metropolis could never do good on jagged areas.

I hope you enjoy the game when you get it and I am looking forward to seeing your CJ!

region to city. I consider regions to be countys more than countries. But if you create a good sized bitmap for a region it could be a country.

Mountains eh? Well, the first thing that mountains bring to mind is Colorado. Something like Denver or Colorado, would fit in.

Also, try coming up with places in real life that it the needs of what you intend of building. And if your capitol is Smith City, try out Smithland, or Smithfield. Also, to make a nice looking capitol, maybe perhaps one with skyscrapers, place it on the foot of the mountains, not in the mountains. Like I said, most big cities don't thrive in rugged areas.

Just to give you a general idea of what the game is like, here is a picture of one of my cities.

(The Toys-R-Us was a plugin, it doesn't come in the game, just to let you know.)

Also, skyscrapers can't be built all out at once. For a newbie, (it took me about 3 months to get my first successful downtown.). You shouls start slow, take your time, don't get in a rush. Also, please feel free to PM me anytime, if you have any questions about the game.

    Regards, Josh

Thanks. So Region, then City? It's not a country, that kinda keeps the game away. I wanna own a country 15.gif

I want a different name then Smith in it. And the mountain wont be that big. And i plan on starting on a place called Spartanburg (hehe).

But hey! Regions really, they are pretty big! You can get these giant squares to build cities with the downtowns in them.

Also, antoer thing you can do is build 2 regions, take a picture of both, and open one of them up in paint, and paste the other one or two to it so that makes it look like you have a country. Thing is ten would compose a state, probably 1000 would compose a country. You would have to own and operate a lot of regions to make a country.

As many as you really want! You can also edit them to make them as large as you want. It isn't all to hard, just look it up on youtube, or here on simtropolis 29.gif
