That is insane. I never bothered with messing with the landscape except for very small scale operations because it was so time consuming and frustrating but he made a pond with a few streams leading away which had to take so long

I bought RCT1 some years ago, and I found out, that it is actually one of the best games ever made. Like Duke, I also think it has a certain charm, that RCT 2 or 3 doesn't have. But they are good games anyway!

I would also like to hear: how many scenarios have you completed in RCT1? I think I've completed about 5-6 scenarios, but they just keeps getting harder and harder 32.gif

I beat the original Roller Coaster Tycoon all the way. I never completed many of the expansion pack scenarios, though.

I own RCT1, 2 and 3 with all the scenarios. In my opinion, RCT1 is by far the best, I think one of the best games I ever played. 2 isn't so bad, but I really hate 3. It doesn't have that feeling that RCT1/2 have, it just feels too 'childish'.

I recently got myself RCT3 with soaked and wild expansions.

as a novice in RCT (but no novice to themepark styled games) I totally like some of the features (especially riding the attractions) but the "missions" are kinda dull after a while.

if it had missions like the original themepark game or a more realistic "tycoon" campaign I think it would be a better game...

but then again, can't do too much wrong with games from the budget aisle 2.gif

I loved rct 1, I used to always play it before I discovered sc4. I got very far in rct1 but loved importing coasters from rct1 and making my own especialy in rc2.

Those are incredible, especially the air powered vertical coasters (I believe they're called that) One question how to you get different colored sections such as the one at :57? Never could figure that out.

since I havent played the game in awile, I cant remember perfectly but in the ride's window, on one of the taps it has a paint brush and had 4 different color schemes to customize and after you select one you just click on diferent sections of the ride and it changes colors.

No... I can't help you there....

I had it on XP only... I haven't  tried it on Vista or 7.

Just stumbled across this topic now...  I have RCT3 at the moment... alongside the Sims 2, Sims 3, SimCity 4 Deluxe and about 20 other games....

How do I do that? Run in compatibility mode? Sounds like something that will make DOS games work....

Make a shortcut to RollerCoaster on the desktop.

Right-click on the shortcut

Press the lowest button (I don't know what it's called in English, but in Danish it's called; Egenskaber)

Press the "Compatibility" button

Select "Windows 98"

Press "OK"

I've started playing RollerCoaster Tycoon Again, but I have a problem... I can't load saved games in the Deluxe edition - when I press "Load Game" there is no files in the folder. Anyone know how to fix this? I've heard about a patch, but I can't find it.

    Any help is appriciated! :)

Wow, I haven't playeed RCT in such a long time. The whole series is definitely one of those "Automatic Hall of Fame" games. I could never unlock any park past, er... great, I forgot the name. Well, it's the water themed one after the very small mini-park.

Probably one of the best computer games I've ever played. I've since lost the disk :( , but I do remember some great rollercoasters that I made, especialy the Texas Twister, which was basically a rollarcaoster with a million loops!

    Oh, right.

I always used RCT2 to build cities...

The only screen I could find this fast, but the town is a lot biggger.

Did the same sometimes. :P Maybe not so much cities but I made massive "Main Streets" like that that you see at large amusement parks. I wish some of my pictures still existed.

I remember RCT2 and RCT3. I played RCT1 at a friends house, but when I got RCT2, he came over to my house to play it.

When RCT3 came out, I was like "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER!" I just wish it was compatible with Windows 7. I have to use my old XP laptop to play it, and the hardware is beginning to fail on it.

    :(
