When you installed the NAM you were given a choice between left and right hand traffic. Reinstall the NAM, and you should be able to make the switch.

If you have a version of the game that is left hand drive, changing your version to right hand drive is a bit more involved. It is actually tied ultimately to the language (the games basic preference that is). Check out this thread for a thorough discussion of how to make yours work the way you want it to.

If you have a left-hand drive game, you need to install the left-hand version of NAM. The game determines the driving side, not NAM. Suggest you remove your current NAM folder from the plugins and re-install using the correct drive-side version.

My point is that you can CHANGE your game default if you wish to. If you are in the US and have right hand drive, but would like to model a European city you certainly may do so and change you game for LHD even though the default of your game is RHD. As CaptCity points out though, it is NOT the NAM that does it.. Once you have selected how you wish the game to play and have properly set it up, you MUST install the PROPER NAM configuration.
