NWM not appearing

Hi, having just finally fixed my computer i was able to get Sim city running again.

I installed the new NAM, RHW and NWM.

However, whenever i plop any of the NWM pieces they do not appear, but they are there because i can demolish them.

Have i missed something in the installation or what?

Regards,

Bigthing

Since you fixed your computer, did you re-install the game from the beginning? If so, assuming you are using Rush Hour or Deluxe, did you install the game patch. It is required for NAM.

If you are using the same plugins from before, you need to be sure you deleted all previous NAM files.

And going to move this to the Modding - Transit Networks thread.

Woops, been here for so long yet still seem to be getting the threads mixed up :-P

    1. No, it seems to be working fine.

    2. No, the CD was scratched so i could not install the Sound.dat file. To solve the problem i created a file with the same name ( I thought that that was pretty clever to be honest) but that means that the patch won't... patch because the files are not inside.

NAM seemed to be working fine before despite me not having that patch...

EDIT: There was something i forgot to mention, on the tab it says "** Intersection Placement String Missing **"

You need the patch for the NAM to work properly. You can buy the game new for $10 to $20 - I would recommend doing that.

That is likely the result of some sort of outdated NAM file--likely an outdated Controller--sitting in your Plugins file somewhere.  Find it and remove it and things should work alright then.

There are A LOT of plugins in my folder. Where would i likely find this file and what could it be called?

All the NAM files have names beginning "NetworkAddonMod". The file could be anywhere, but if it's outside of your NAM folder, you would need to delete it.

I am having difficulties with the NWM everytime I go to plop a puzzle piece I get the message "##Intersection placement string missing##" im not sure why I read some forums that say that it may be an older version of NAM causing conflict however I have tried deleting every NAM file in my plugins and then re-downloaded NAM may 2010 and then the NWM but when I load the game and try building I get the same message "##Intersection placement string missing##" I also tried cleanitol but this hasn't been much success either. RHW and regular NAM pieces all work fine but not NWM I have been at this for the last 5hrs now so please if anyone can help me then when I run the game in the highway icon it says that I have Network Addon Mod Controller version: r27u (July 18, 2009) I don't know why this is when I clearly deleted every NAM file that I had before I installed NAM May 2010 and the NWM could it be that I deleted the previous NAM without uninstalling it first by clicking on the uninstall icon in its folder??

I have deleted everything that is NAM bound in my folder then reinstalled NAM May 2010 then I installed NWM and run the game and the problem still persists. Do roadside texture mods effect the NWM specifically the JRJ Street side Mod or SFBT Street Tree Mod....
