Still a game 7 to play in Boston  friday night, so the Canadian will get  a few day rest.

Stil 3 of the original 8 in it. Chicago eliminated Vancouver yesterday.

Unfortunately the Red Wings have already been eliminated, but I was very luck this year and got to go to two games in our quarterfinals (Detroit vs. Phoenix Coyotes), and a game in our semifinals (against San Jose), the one where the Wings were facing elimination but won 7-1--a great game to be at.  We were eliminated the following game, but I'm still a happy fan.

I watched the last two Montreal vs Pittsburg games which were good games.

I found it fitting that the Habs beat the Pens for the last game in the Mellon Arena. They also beat the Pens in their first game at said arena. Of course it really sucked watching my team get knocked out... but I've got to hand it to Montreal. What they are doing is a great hockey story in the making. In keeping with tradition, I shall root for them to win the "coupe" being that they knocked my team out. It doesn't seem so bad if you get beat by the champs. But I'm already thinking about next season!

Psst, Jason... we Pittsburghers are very particular about the H.

This year has been the worst postseason year for Detroit's teams. The Red Wings were defeated by San Jose after beating Phoenix in the first round. Meanwhile, the 2009-2010 NBA season is over for the Pistons.

Teams are all about equal in the NHL.  Often the difference between staying in the playoffs and hitting the links is very small.  The thing about professional sports in general is that everyone trains to the highest level it is personally possible to achieve and then it is all a matter of who is in better shape on a given day.

Proper training says your team should peak in the post-season, but it is necessary to get to the off-season.  Once you are there, holding any kind of peak for long is very difficult if not impossible.  It gets pretty bumpy for the trainers and coaches at this time of year in hockey.

Statewide rivalries aside, I'd like to see Mike Richards get the cup, but not anyone else on that team, particulary Hartnell. Personally, I don't think they've got what it takes, as a team, to make it all the way, but I've been wrong before.

How upset must the NHL Jerks be that their beloved superstars have been knocked out? Doesn't bother me much beyond the fact that I'm a Pens fan, but I know they just try to milk all they can out of Ovi and Sid. They are even considering the Pens for another Winter Classic game already. They just played in one so i say give the rest of the league a chance, and for crying out loud, put one in Canada already. Go Habs.

I must say, go Blackhawks. Then again, my local Coyotes didn't fare to owell against the Wings, but I;m glad they were slaughtered by San Jose.

Gotta say though, I've got a hunch this 2010 Stanley Cup final is going to be an Original 6 Showdown.

Blackhawks vs. Canadiens is my bet. Sorry Bruins.... Halak is just too good.

Les Hockey Canadiens are great at comebacks, so don't rule them out yet.  I guess the lay over was too much for them.

I would question reality if a goonish team like the Flyers beat out Montreal after what they accomplished in the first 2 rounds.

Chicago is up 2 games as well.

Tonight the Habs are at home.  If they  don't score an opening goal early in the first period, Les Gens will riot.
