I'll be honest here, I don't like the Phillies and I don't like the Giants, but I dislike the Giants more which is why I picked the Phils to put a whoopin' on the Giants and send them home to watch the Series.

I don't get this sort of rhetoric. Sure, you do have the occasional rabid crazy fan who will continue to hang around and root for his team even if they're down 10-0... but most people aren't like that. Most of us are just looking to enjoy ourselves, and find it to be decidedly counterproductive to that goal to sit there and watch our team lose. As such, we will leave/turn off our TVs when our team is losing because we see no purpose to sitting there and torturing ourselves.

And come on, don't act like fans of every other team don't do exactly the same thing.

For crying out loud, it's post-season baseball! You could miss something by leaving early. I'd hang around.

But trust me, I've left a few games early. One tends to do that when they live in a city with a horrible team.

Currently it looks like a SF/Texas matchup could happen. I'm sticking with SF just beacause of Freddy Sanchez. It would be cool though if Texas won.

Well, there won't be this year. The Next Super Bowl may be in Dallas, but that won't be until 2011.

But to answer your question, yes, it has happened. Three times: 1977 (Los Angeles), 1998 (San Diego), and 2006 (Detroit). Interestingly, all three times the baseball team in question has been the losing team.

Woot for the Rangers! Love to see the Yankees get a well deserved spanking...winning costs more than money sometimes.

A Rangers Giants world series would be great to see...and great for baseball, despite the fact that it may not be the most economically advantageous situation.

Well, a team that's never won playing a team that last won over 50 years ago certainly has a bit of stir to it... but I daresay that outside of Texas and the Bay Area, few people are going to care. So, if most of the nation tuning out is what you call "great for baseball", then sure.

Not a matter of importance, merely of how much interest would be generated. And it doesn't have to be the Yankees, it could just as easily be the Red Sox. Or the Cubs, but I wouldn't count on seeing that anytime soon.
