Massive celebrations took place in downtown Campbell this Friday as the city welcomed its one millionth resident. An estimated 9,345 people came to University Park to take part in the festivities, which included live music and an exhibition of Campbell's history patterned after the Disney Carousel of Progress.

Some photographs of the city as it enters its next great era of development:

    An elaborate new police headquarters:

Urban improvements, including new trees, have begun to the east side of downtown:

The wealthy carve out a new neighborhood for themselves just northwest of the city center:

The original farming community that founded the town of Campbell. As development encroaches, these farms have been marked as a heritage site, never to be demolished:

This house was one of the first to be built in the town's founding. It has been home to 5 generations:

The buildings along this freeway are all new:

As the county seat since 1912, Campbell has been responsible for providing the county with a proper courthouse. This is the latest such structure:

Hey, Skimbo, are you still developing the Road Addon Mod? I was looking forward to using the Brooklyn textures in my city for a more realistic American look.

You need roads. Just lay a web of farm roads and connect the wind turbines to them.

First update in quite a while...I haven't been playing CXL so much lately, but I did go back to Campbell and add on to the city:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_67.jpg

The new Metropolitan Museum of Science and Technology is now open to all residents and visitors. Brimming with interesting and interactive exhibits, the museum hopes to draw in the intellectually oriented crowd.

Campbell International Airport has undergone significant expansion. Perhaps the most obvious change is the new terminal and runway, but other things have been added as well:cxl_screenshot_campbell_69.jpg

The airport's new parking garage has space for thousands of cars, and should alleviate the trend of people having to park in the grass:cxl_screenshot_campbell_70.jpg

The airport hotels can be seen from the entrance:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_71.jpg

Gas stations and car rental facilities have popped up in the vicinity of the airport, filling a massive demand:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_72.jpg

Privately owned parking lots have been erected along the airport roads: For just $9.99 a day, your car will be secure while you are away:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_73.jpg

The police headquarters has recieved a facelift as well. Those eyesore parking lots have been removed in favor of compact garages:cxl_screenshot_campbell_76.jpg

This is now the largest mall in Campbell. Over 200 stores:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_77.jpg

Traffic is completely and utterly out of control!:

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_80.jpgcxl_screenshot_campbell_81.jpg

After reports of mile long traffic jams and stop-and-go traffic plaguing Campell's roads on a daily basis, the city council has decided almost unanimously to initiate a full overhaul of the city's outdated mass transit system. The mayor was clear that "any city where less than 10% of the residents have even seen a bus is in serious trouble", and that "all necessary measures will be taken to ensure that the city of Campbell becomes a first class city and a national model":

    cxl_screenshot_campbell_74.jpgcxl_screenshot_campbell_75.jpg

As of this writing, the number of bus lines in Campbell has been doubled from 3 to 6, and 4 new lines are already planned.

The car parks can be found in the custom content section of the CXL forum. The mall is part of the stock game.
