ST's 2010 NCAAF thread

So spring practice has started for most College football teams, and I think it might be time for a ST pre-season poll!

Here are my top ten choices:

#1 Boise State: 21 returning starters? C'mon

#2 'Bama: Defense won't be as stellar

#3 Ohio State: Maybe Ohio will finally live up to expectations!?

#4 Texas: Garret Gilbert looks very promising

#5 TCU: Very Underrated TCU will suprise you once again

#6 Iowa: Iowa returns many key players

#7 Wisconsin: Heisman candidate John Clay will help Wisconsin

#8 Oregon: Very talented and explosive team

#9 Georgia Tech: Return the core of their offense

#10 Va Tech: Not great, but few weaknesses help their case

If Boise State could get in the championship that would be great for the game. They deserve it, they've been one of the most consistent powerhouses in the last 5 years.

Look out for Boston College in the ACC, every year picked last, every year they are in the top 4 teams in the conference. But i'd say Tech is the team to beat in the ACC. That offense gets more potent as they recruit players specialized to it and get more experience with it.

yea, Boise state and TCU would have been a better challenge for 'Bama last year in the BCS Nat'l title game...

But I still think that 'Bama would have won no matter what....

Dang it, Tech had a shot tp beat  Texas at home today.

Texas kept shooting them sleves into foot but tech only took advantage of one of the 3 turnovers.

Don't know if anyone saw this or not, but there was an a**-whoopin' in college football today. No. 11 Wisconsin routs Austin Peay 70-3. Ouch. Too bad I had to work today. That would have been a fun game to watch.

5 of the other 6 Big Ten teams had laid down some beatdowns on their opponents like they were supposed to, actually. Penn State had a close call against a Temple team that actually seems pretty good this year.

My Gophers are probably going to go 1-11 this season at this rate, though. They're even worse than everyone thought they were.

Wisconsin is whoopin' No#1 Ohio 21-3 at halftime. Rare occurrence that the Badgers get a No#1 team in their house at Camp Randall Stadium. Place is rocking tonight.

Wisconsin just knocked off #1 Ohio 31-18. Pandemonium at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. First time since Sept. 12, 1981 that Wisconsin has knocked off a #1 team [which was 17 days before my son was born].

they should judt put TCU or Boisy #1 and be done with it. #5 Nebraska lost today too.

But looks like Oregon will be #1.

Maybe Oregon will be #1, though I think it should go to Boise.  Considering Oregon didn't play, they shouldn't move up in the polls.  Wisconsin better make a big leap in the polls, they manhandled Ohio tonight.

I hope that Boise State gets to number 2. If not there is a problem in the system. Oregon at number 1, they've earned it even if they didn't play.

Just when it looked like the ACC was poised to finally get back into the thick of things this year when it started with 5 ranked teams, it falls apart again...It's amazing to think that the only legitimate title threat the ACC has had in the last 7 or so years since Miami was actually in the game was BC when they were undefeated and ranked number two. BC has really fallen apart as a program though thanks to the whole Jeff Jagodzinki thing. They still have some great NFL prospects but as a team they are dreadful and the crowd is nonexistant. Meanwhile the year in year out "strong" teams are quite weak this year and teams like Georgia Tech, Miami, and Virginia Tech, which were expected to be big players in the Top 25 are struggling, and one would have to conduct a scientific research program to figure out if Clemson even has a football program still [thats a joke...]. The ACC has produced a lot of "quality" teams that can beat any given team on any night, and they produce a lot of great NFL players, but they can't seem to get one team that can make a consistent run at a title week in week out.

Wisconsin won another game against a ranked team, first time since 2004 they've 2 in row against ranked teams. They beat Iowa 31-30 and are now 7-1, 3-1 in the conference.

Another #1 goes down. thier looking foolish for not just leaving Oregon #1 they dominated thier oppenents

Auburn has won a lot of close games. Lets see them  lose this  week end against Ole Miss

Look out for Michigan State......
