Big Size Cities with Long Commute?

Okay, I made a nice little City in my game. I tried to do everything right, built Bus Stops & Subways, Made sure Conjestion was low, and made sure they didn't have to drive far to get to their jobs, which also there are are plenty of. I also have tons of Parks.

However I'm still having a problem with Commute Time! I even have a house that has a job right next door, and they are complaining about Commute time!

I'm starting to find Black Sky Rises, and it doesn't make any sense to me!

The only thing I can think of, is that, you know when you make a region, there are usually these REALLY big City things? Well my City takes up roughly 50% of that. Every town I make in those type of Cities have long Commutes.

Has anyone figured out how to change this? Or maybe get rid of the whole Commute Systems all together? I don't see my dad complaining, and he works on the other side of the STATE. (Well, maybe a little.)

Thanks for your help in advance!

EDIT: Also, another thing, I have NAM with the best Commute option I saw. So my Sims know how to drive!

I have this same problem! I made lots and lots of road/avenues/highways leaving the city, and the commute is still really long.

What do you mean? Sorry for my low IQ. xD Do you mean like the place two roads meet? That might be hard.

    Two possibilities:

    1) You don't have the right jobs. Your sims may live next to an open job, but unless it's the right type, they won't take it. Depending on the EQ and class composition of your population, you need to have different jobs available. Route query the various houses to see where the occupants are going and also make sure that the number of commuters leaving is ~ half the population of the house.

    2) Sims are leaving the map. If the edge of your map is closer than the nearest jobs they are willing to take, they will leave the map if you have a city bordering on that edge. Can't really do anything about it. Yeah, it sucks.

on reply to reducing the intersections, you could use the overpass tool (in the NAM which you have, right?) to go over roads. this might help
