your pictures are a little unclear, but i'll try to help you as much as i can

if you're having problems with not being able to do things that you used to a be able to do (diagonal roads for example) check to make sure you have deleted the old NAM files as they are no longer needed.

if you're asking about diagonal streets, they are a bit tricky to lay. they must be laid in a zig-zag fashion like so:

that representation isn't very good, but i hope you get the picture. the digonal street piece needs to be at least 3 or 4 tiles long for it to become diagonal

hope that helped

    WHOA! thats a mess...

    questions:
    1. what is your version of Simcity4? issit the normal SC4, SC4 with rush hour, or SC4 Deluxe. because from what I know NAM can only run smoothly (less conflicts 19.gif42.gif) on SC4 ruch hour or Deluxe.

    2. what is your version of NAM? so far right now NAM is identify by its release date. the latest NAM had solve various bugs, so you might need to consider getting the latest version. be sure to remove the older version before applying the latest.

do you have Swamper77's Sidewalk Mod? that has conflicts with the NAM

also make sure you deleted all the old NAM files.

btw, are both your Rush Hour CD and SimCity 4 original CDs bought in the same country?

read the effing Q&A file..... i just fixed my ATL problem..... make sure you DO NOT have any other transit modds.... the install instructions file clearly states which ones conflict with the NAM.... also make sure you don't have any of the Transit BugFix files, they cause major conflics with the NAM

Diag roads can be made without NAM. I have diag roads in my cities and don't have NAM. So what's this NAM all about?

NAM includes many transit bug fixes, tweaks the pathfinding engine to make sims smarter drivers (though this requires some extra CPU cycles), adds many new intersection/interchange possibilities, adds elevated sections of most ground-based networks (ostensibly for making custom overpasses, but they can be used for other purposes as well), adds Ground Light Rail (GLR, or El-rail tracks at ground level), and recently, adds optional avenue left turn lanes, road roundabouts, and diagonal streets. Previously, true diagonal streets were impossible, though you could build zig-zag streets that followed the same course that a diagonal street would (in fact, that's how the diagonal streets have to be drawn).

I was skeptical about its beta status at first as well, but now I swear by it. Even if you do experience problems, the vast majority of the additions are either things you have to opt to use in game (like the new intersections) or else have their own optional plugin. And, because of the way SC4 deals with plugins, there's pretty much no chance it will screw up your install, although there is a slight chance of it screwing up a city. If you're worried about that, back up your region beforehand.

i stand by Kieran Halcyon.... the NAM is a must for SimCity. it adds wonders to the game.... like the ability to truly make sunken highway systems (you have to use smoncrie's hole digger lots along with the NAM of course), EL Rail on top of road (like in Chicago), overpasses so that traffic isn't affected at intesections (just like in really busy real life intersections), it also adds a network that Maxis left unfinished (the ANT), as well as make EL Rail available on the ground for trams (Ground Light Rail)

sure, it's beta... the NAM will always be beta as it is forever changing. but the NAM doesn't modify any game files, so it can't mess anything up. install it, check out all the features, and then make an educated decision. just a simple deletion of the NAM files will remove it from the game with no harm done.

as for the warnings, everything on simtropolis is an UNOFFICIAL mod for the game.... the creators have to include warnings and disclaimers as nothing on here is actually supported by Maxis.

in short: get the NAM, try it out, remove it if you don't like it

The blacktop transit network can be made diagonal; the greytop cannot by default. Someone created a mod that allows you to make the greytop diagonally and this mod has been incorporated into the July release of the NAM. You can still use it seperately from NAM.

(I always confuse road and street so I just call them by their default colors to be clear.)
