After what happened to my computer(story is in the last post of my old thread), I decided to make a new thread to organize everything and not continue my work on the old thread. Now that is taken care of, I am continuing my maxis mod here. I will make a new mayor's house, and replace all the rewards with modded versions. Like last thread, I will take advice, just as long as it isn't crazy. There are going to be quite a few more dependencies, but I am going to categorize them to each RCI level. I also thought up of a few new techniques to make each lot better. Now that is taken care of, I am working on getting the dependency packs together and I will post them here. Untill then, you can ask questions or comment on anything you want(keep it reasonable).

    So youre relotting maxis buildings using other props eh? don't sound too bad! im not that into that water pump though.... The original only takes up a 1x1 space, yet this one been made twice the size just for a some trees and a parking lot...i'd scrap the water pump idea. the other are ok though.

    Well, the water pump doesn't replace the original.

    I am releasing every lot in different packs:

    Residential:

    All residential lots will be uploaded in 3 packs that will replace the default lots.

    Pack 1 - Replaces all low(R$) wealth lots

    Pack 2 - Replaces all medium(R$$) wealth lots

    Pack 3 - Replaces all high(R$$$) wealth lots

    Commercial:

    All commercial lots will be uploaded in 5 packs that will replace the default lots.

    Pack 1 - Replaces all low(CS$) wealth commercial services lots

    Pack 2 - Replaces all medium(CS$$) wealth commercial services lots

    Pack 3 - Replaces all high(CS$$$) wealth commercial services lots

    Pack 4 - Replaces all medium(CO$$) wealth commercial offices lots

    Pack 5 - Replaces all high(CO$$$) wealth commercial offices lots

    Industrial:

    All industrial lots will be uploaded in 4 packs that will replace the default lots.

    Pack 1 - Replaces all farm(I-r$) lots*

    Pack 2 - Replaces all dirty(I-d$) industry lots

    Pack 3 - Replaces all manufacturing(I-m$$) lots

    Pack 4 - Replacs all high-tech(I-h$$$) industry lots

    * - This will be version 2 version 1 is here

    Civics:

    All civic lots will be uploaded in 4 packs that will add new lots to the game.

    Pack 1 - Adds new police station lots

    Pack 2 - Adds new fire station lots

    Pack 3 - Adds new hospital lots

    Pack 4 - Adds new education lots

    Recreation:

    All recreation lots will be uploaded in various packs because I will make new parks, but all modded maxis parks will add to the default parks.

    Rewards:

    All reward lots will be uploaded in 2 packs that will replace the default reward lots.

    Pack 1 - First half(1-26)

    Pack 2 - Second half (27-52)

    Utilities:

    All utility lots will be uploaded in 4 packs that will add new lots to the game.

    Pack 1 - Adds new transportation lots

    Pack 2 - Adds new water utility lots

    Pack 3 - Adds new power plant lots

    Pack 4 - Adds new sanitation lots

    Landmarks:

    All landmark lots will be uploaded in a certain number of packs because I probably won't work on several of the landmarks.

    Important Note: These mods will NOT be compatible with old cities because most of the lot sizes of every lot has been increased; if you download these mods and load an old city, the lots will be resized and interfere with other lots causing pandemonium.

    That sure is a huge project you are working on! Good progress so far. I recommend that you make a variety of lot sizes (not all large). If you are planning on making growables, sizes above 4x4 are hard to grow without manual zoning.

    I also recommend you use less Maxis buildings if you are planning on 'replacing' the in game content. In my Industrial Lot Project (see my sig), my aim was to minimize the Maxis buildings in order to create variety in the game. It sure did take time (to find suitable dependencies) but the end result was good.

    I can see you are a very creative lotter, that is always good to see. I wish you all the best in this and future projects.

Like me, some people like some of the maxis buildings, but the default lots make them look too poor. The size I make of the lots depends on what I want the entire finished product to look like; such as if I want to make a large factory, mall, or any lot that requires a  lot of space, I would make it 6x6 or so, or if I want to make something smaller, I would make it somewhere between 1x1 - 3x4(like I said, it depends on how I want the lot to look). What I do too minimize the repetitiveness of maxis buildings is combining similar looking buildings and I make sure they fit as nice as possible so it does not look like an eye-sore. As for the trouble of growing any lot larger than 4x4, I remember seeing two uploads on the stex which I think increase the possibility of residential and commercial lots above 4x4 to grow: The titles are Residential 6By collection and Commercial 6By collection or somethong like that.

    nathanthemayor: I honestly would post in-game pics, but for some reason my game crashes every time before it loads a city. I do not have much plugins; they are mostly dependencies, but I have NAM, I think I have some mods for vehicles and terrain/water, and maybe some other stuff, but like I said: I have mostly dependencies because of this mod I am making and not much else. I am not sure if it is a conflicting download or if my computer finally can't handle simcity anymore. I would really appreciate it if anyone has possible suggestions to fix this problem. If this problem still persists, I will get in-game pics one way or another for the actual uploads.

    Please put parking in front of commercial building because i haaate the original maxis parking lot back at commercial areas. Cause these commerce have no acess, the only chance to car park i these areas is flying.

    In fact, water/terrain mods are the most likely cause of the problem you described.

    Why don't you simply make an alternative plugins folder without terrain/water/tree mods and NAM and all that stuff you don't need? Simply add all required dependencies, open up a test city, plop down your lot using the Extra Cheats dll (buildingplop cheat) and take a screenshot. It's a five-minute-job all in all.

    T Wrecks: That is why I started that topic earlier thinking that it was gizmo's props, but I found out that the real reason is that there was a hidden terrain mod that I forgot to delete. That problem is fixed now.

    iuri99: I will definitely be adding accessable parking lots on every lot that I put a parking lot on, none of them will be in the back and isolated.
