Sincity 4 + NAM = CRASH?

Well, I just dl'ed NAM, and it installed into the PLUGINS folder and such. But now, if I try to run SC4 (I have the Rush hour add-on), it crashes after the Landscape thingie intro (after the Maxis logo fades away). What's goin' on? :[

Is this your first NAM installation? If you had an older version, you may still have files from it in your plugins folder. They would definitely crash the game.

Also, does your game have the game patch for Rush Hour? And, if you look in the documentation, there are several transit related files listed as being noncompatible with NAM. You might check for those. You might try removing all your plugins except NAM and run the game to see if its's working. Just a thought...

Yes, it has the patch.

My transit related mods I have in the Plugins folder right now is:

-Modern Tollbooths

-European busstops

-HOV Bus lanes

-Modded cop cars and fire rigs (forgot the real names)

-BART train

-F22A Planes

-Super cars mod V2

Oh god, even If I uninstall NAM my game still crashes. :[

Now it's impossible for me to change the options in the game.

I just reinstalled the game. It still doesn't work. FML.

It sounds like something else is afoot, and perhaps one of those other Plugins is causing it.  (Uninstalling SC4 generally does not delete your Plugins folder(s).)  Most of them sound like automata plugins, which are usually harmless enough, but the "Super Cars Mod V2" sounds rather suspicious.  I'd go in and take everything out of your Plugins folder, and slowly start adding things back in, starting with the NAM.

Also, as CaptCity suggests, I'd check to make sure you've got the Version 1.1.638 patch for Rush Hour--you can find it here (once you agree to the EA/Maxis terms and conditions).

Additionally, have there been any other recent changes to your hardware or software setups that may have had an adverse effect on your ability to run SC4?

Thanks for the help guys! Turns out that some of my cities were causing the problem for some reason, so I deleted them, and it solved the problem!
