I believe that even in real airports, the proximity of the taxiways and the roads are generally very close, and everything is timed. But that again is your own decision

@Jim546: I agree with the Olympic jetway. I am going to change it because its in anoter part of my airport anyway.

@bwong: But as far as the roads being close, if you look on google maps, JFK has roads that are practically on top of taxiways. But your right it is pretty close.

A quite unrealistic airport with some humour added in.

Nice place for a building. But does that say "airfags?" can you say that on here?

You know you use a lot of custom content when you mistake an original maxis thing for other custom content. 1.gif

Can't those planes just take off the opposite way from the building?

(unless there's another tall one off-picture)

My version of ARIP (airport roads) is actually in the final scruitineering stage (finally...). If all goes to plan, then it should see an upload by Sunday.

In terms of the lot itself, it's just custom made. Nothing special.

Awesome...I'd love to use those.

Sorry about that bwong.  The idea I got from Shadeslayer's reply was too funny to me, so I didn't think too much about what you really meant by your question.

This is a VERY urban airport for an island state that I'm building now.  Very Gibraltar-ish with it being packed right into town.  I wanted a road across the runway, like in Gibraltar, but have no idea how to do it, so tunnels underneath work just fine.  The city isn't done, I haven't done the shore details or anything like that, but it's coming along.

Space is at a premium here, and the safety constraints have been stretched quite a bit.  The noise/crash barrier that runs along the runway is pretty close, but can accomodate the odd 747 that comes in here.  It's mostly narrow-body traffic.

The small terminal, with one of those rare 747s sitting at the gate.

The far end of the runway, surrounded by residential neighbourhoods.  You can see the tunnel under the runway.

The main avenue tunnel that leads to the terminal and to the other side of the airport.

FishermanIvan: Very nice small airport! One thing id have to say is that you're missing the blast pads at the end of the runway. However it looks so "cozy" with the suburban homes on each side, along with that winding river.

I'm the 'A' to the 'r', to the c-h-e-a-n,
and even though my name means 'old' I'm really quite pimp,
I'm Archilicious.

No room for blast pads. Runway 36 has a displaced threshold, but that's it.

Not too many runways around where I live have blast pads.
