I would like to know if anyone else ever has or dose experince the following problems. I have health and schools close by to my residents. I have all they could ever need or want. Yet even though my buildings say high for health and eduction when I look at the view that shows me where I have polution, health, education, ect. I have some locations that are indeed doing very well and others where the health or education is down the tolit so to speak and it dose not matter what I do or add in it dose not change.

I have also noticed on a different issue here no matter how close sims are to the work it still says long trip. They are also to lazzy to walk across the street. They will use thier cars to do something as simple as that. Some walk but many will use thier cars.

Any fixes for ethier of these problems please let me know.

Thanks for any responces.

To answer your first question, I find that even just with elementary schools in an area the information query displays a high education level. The data overlay is the best way to determine which parts of your city are in need. I would check the average resident age data overlay as well, some residents are simply too old to make use of your educational institutions, especially if they moved in before there were any. As for the health issue, I would check the ambulance radius of your medical center, sometimes parts of your city are simply missed by the ambulance coverage (since its a circle).

Hope this helps.

This is normal for the game. For some reason; it takes a while to turn green. It will eventually, trust me. And I don't know why it takes so long, it just does. But as long as your have lots of school and hospitals; I'd say you're good to go! 4.gif

The residents who NEWLY move in are usually red as they are younger and don't "inherit" the EQ like the residents BORN in the city do.. therefore they "get smarter" as they get older.. if you have the ed coverage, sooner or later they will get smarter.. and I agree that the overlay is the best way to tell. About your "commute" issue, what is the wealth spread for your residents? Look on the Pop graph and see how many R$, R$$ and R$$$ you have... if you have too many R$$$ they will be unable to find jobs in the city and will cross to the next city (if they can get there) and this may throw the commute to "long"

Also, no matter how many colleges, universities and high schools you have, it doesn't help if you don't have Elementary schools. All sims have to start their education there, and can't utilise the higher education unless they've been to elementary school first.

Actually, you don't need elementary schools to utilize higher education. Each educational building creates an increase in education, irregardless of whether buildings for younger sims have been built. You can for example think of the in-game college as a community college which provides night classes for adult sims. Having all the educational buildings simply make your education level go higher much more quickly (with elementary and high schools having the greatest effect).
