Full Neighbourhood BATs

I wondered whether anyone was working on full neighbourhood BATs to increase the realism in-game, I am a little biased so of course would love to see the dream Nevada neigbourhoods on Sim City, but I'm sure there is demand for other neighbourhoods.

unfortunately because plopped residentials can't work (can't get jobs, they must be grown) such a thing, whether as a BAT or a LOT can only be visual (and it will degrade I assume) I have heard of people making large scale growables but I can't help with any more info on the viability of such an approach. But if it can work you'd probably be best off creating your dream neighbourhood in the LE or LE_X.

Actually, ploppable residentials can work. However, I don't know of anyone who is making new sets or prop families of single-family residential.

Full neighbourhood complexes already layed out but just as landmarks would be good enough for me.

paul.thomson: OK, well I don't think anybody is making those either. Maybe you should try your own hand at the BAT.

Crackdtoothgrin: So, let's say the residential building you want to plop is a high-density 2x3 apartment building. You would zone a 2x3 lot of high-density residential, and let a tower grow on it, and then you would plop your desired building directly on top of it, making sure that the footprint and the direction match. For whatever reason, this tricks the game into thinking the plopped residential lot has a road connection, and the building won't abandon.

I've tried that several times, and it never worked for me. I keep hearing this once in a while, but so far I've never seen any real evidence. So if this approach actually works for anyone, I'd really appreciate some screenies. I don't have a reason to think that everybody who claims that this method works is lying, but I just cannot get it to work on my computer.

Every residential you see in my CJ is plopped with this method (with the exception of ones that were made as landmarks or parks, which is pretty few to be honest), that is if were not able to get them to grow & make historical.

They are still subject to abandonment by demand, so that may also be an issue.

I have also had the method nofunk is explaining work for me, except the residential buildings I plop seem to have no residents in them, they become purely cosmetic.
