Purple bars at bottom of cities in region view

I seem to remember that certain resolutions in the game will produce this strange purple bar that runs across the bottom of a city while in Region view, but for the life of me now they seeem just sporadic in what regions they will appear.

In the Palm Springs region each city has the awful purple bar that runs across the bottom of the city while in Region view, however playing on "The Rock" a very small map at the same resolution (1920x1200) does not produce this purple bar at the bottom of each city.

Obviously it wouldn't stop me from playing SC4 since the purple bar doesn't show up in the city itself, but I'd really like to cure it so that none of my Regions show that purble/navy blue bar at the bottom of each city in region view.

Any clues what to do to get all regions to NOT show this purple navy blue bar at the bottom of each city in region view?

Thanks,

I've attached the image below (it's from my video smears thread) but it shows the purple bar at the bottom of the two cities that I've opened and saved as an example to demonstrate what I mean by these purple bars at the bottom of each city that I open and only in Region view.

There is a know issue when rendering at a resolution of 1600x1200, or higher.  Most of the time if you render at a lower resolution, you can then go back to the higher resolution without the space at the bottom showing.

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean that I shoudl "render" at a lower resolution and then go back to the higher resolution. What does it mean that I should "render" at a lower resolution?

    Thanks,

Hmmm I just tried out warriors resolution...I think you're right, no bars at the 1920x1080 resolution. This is awesome! I'm going to play in this resolution for now on!

When you "render" the map in-game (create the playable region), the resolution should be lower than 1600 X 1200 (and it sounds like the 1200 is the important one). Once the map is rendered (playable), the resolution can be raised, and the "bars" at the bottom of the large city maps won't appear.

Do you mean when you play the cities or render maps?
