I think one of the biggest things we need here at Simtropolis is a Dubai BAT Team or Team Room. There are soooo many fantastic buildings that would be incredible BATs and look great in SC4 (with it's color scheme especially, plus they're just awesome in general). I would like to see a Dubai BAT team similar to the HK one, where they not only BAT the enormous landmark skyscrapers, but also small and medium sized growables in the Dubai style.

Why don't you start one yourself, you might ask?  Well, sorry folks, i'm not a creator, i'm a moocher.  I don't even have the BAT and am not a super-serious gamer...i actually don't play SC4 very often at all.  I just think this would be a good idea.

I believe most people would really like something like this.  Forgive my hypocrisy above =P

There have been many people that wanted to start BAT teams. Most of them were like you, and didnt want to take the time and effort to actually do something for the team. I can tell you now that your team will not work.

Unless you will take the time to learn the BAT and you can show others that you know how to make dubai BATs, no one will join your team. They might start a team, and if they do you wont be part of it and they wont take requests from you. There is no way people will just form a team to make whatever building you tell them to when making requests is all you contribute. One person might make a few of your requests but there is no way you will get a entire team.

oh no i wouldn't even be a member of said team. bossing people around to make buildings i request is not what i want at all. i guess what this is is more of a nudge to whoever may have been thinking about something like this already. i would not be associated with the team at all. like i said, it's kind of hypocritical, but after seeing the vast range and success of the HKBAT (as hong kong has a building style quite it's own), i thought there might be people who would want to develop a similar style project for Dubai (which also has a very unique building style). sorry if i sound like a mooch. but i definately would not be involved with the team at all if it was made.

at least your willing to admit that, most people trying to start bat teams are the same but in denial. it is up to creators to create and collaborate as they wish, if that leads to organisation then so be it, if not, then so be it.

I would be interested in this idea. I only did one building from Dubai which isn't really an exact recreation.

If you could do some work, I would join this team.

the point of this thread is exactly what mightygoose said:  it was just to see if maybe this could catalyze some people who had been toying with this idea in the back of their heads into a group.  if it happens, that's great.  if not, oh well.
