I dig your use of the water lots! Your terraforming is top notch as well.

I'll say you deserve more of an A- than a B. The minus coming from a little bit of overuseing the stone embankments. Sometimes open grass tiles in these places can look very nice. Its easy to over do the embankments though and many do IMO.

    Can't wait to see more!

That area is looking very nice, with all those seasonal trees, great work. I don't mind you're busy in real life, there's just so many cj's out there, it gives me the time to comment on others in the meanwhile...2.gif But: I'll be checking in here from time to time to take a look! keep it up, and good luck with your new job!

I think taht you did a fantastic job! I have a couple of questions that I hope you can anwser. First can you please that me how you did the lowered highway effect and can it be done with railroads? Second, how did you get the enterance to your Res. to slope so gradually? It almost looks like you had a landscaper actually do it!!! Please tell me your secrets, as I am kinda new to all of this, thanks. Lastly, with the water embankments where might I find those should I want to use them.

hello guys i will hopefully be doing an updte later today... i am really just commenting on what you guys have to say.

utora: thank you for your kind words...

Omiomitofu: simgoober makes them... it is a great canal set...i am hoping to have it throughout the entire region...it is more of a relaxation place for my sims though...

jonboy: if you are truly interested i can post a tutorial for you if you would like... i learn a lot of what i do from the Sculpting colombia river CJ by jeroni. but if you ask i will definalty show you how i do my stuff...also if you just type in embankment into the stex you will find the water embankment there...secondly though i would recomend the elevated rail station there and the elevated embankment set as well... i use them through my city ...

Quack, jacqulina, Traffic_Jam, Jerebannus XVI: thank you for your kind remarks...

Compromise: thank you again... hopefully next time i am graded i will get an A.

thanks to all of you out there who are keeping up with this CJ. comments/ questions/ and anything else is always welcome

I woudent expect to get a A yet in this CJ. I only give them out very rareley and they mean everything is perfect. You are moving towards a A but your not quite there yet. A B is not average a D to C is so you have still done very well.

A very different CJ. I like it. The curvy canal looks fun for the sims living in the area. Keep up the good work.

    I am happy. Are you?

attention everyone... i am sorry but i have to scrap this city for some reason ... it just does not meet what i had in mind. this does not however mean that this cj is over because it is not by any means... i am just going to start a differant city and try and work from there. you will defianlty be able to tell it is mine because there will be quite a few terraces and those seasonal trees. to those of you who like this city... i am not deleting it.... at least not right now... i am keeping it for the moment and seeing if it will match what else comes into this region...

Mikeaut1: thank you very much... and i hope that you will like the new developent that i am going to be starting soon,

palmgurl: great comments as always... thanks

Compromise: i truly hope that i will get an a. i guess i am happy to get a b though since not many people get that good of a grade i guess.

beachfrontproperty: tree set is found on the stex by peaguses if i remember correctly... just type in seasonal and it i will pop up... as well as the retaining walls...

mtbrocket: i plan on having a canal run through this part of it too... i am not sure though if i will keep this city though.. for some reason it is just not turning out the way i wanted it... i am obsesive compulsive so if something is not right i have to redo it againa and again...wish me luck at least that it will be...

Omiomitofu: i have found that if you only have one tile of land that you are trying to go ober before the water it does it fine... i just always use that tile to put that embankment set on...

    sloppet: thank you as well

questions comments and suggestions are always welcome... i am leaving the fate of this city to you guys...if you think i should keep it and try to work it into the region then i will.... this is the main reason why i have not had an update lately... i am torn between a building style that i want to use and the one that i am using right now... i am trying to blend the two together right now...

thank you all for your great support of this CJ. that in of itself is why i am not just starting a new one... i think you guys deserve to have me work on this one more... even if i do not still have this city in it...

    thanks to all,
    ian christopher lowe

I hereby veto the decision to scrap this city as set in motion by Master Architect Ian Christopher Lowe on August 3, 2005. Development of Park River shall proceed as planned. We apologize for any alarm or confusion this may have created. Thank you.

Just when I get around to posting in this magnificent cj, I hear talk of discontinuing it?!

ianclowe4c: I ask that you continue this CJ. From what I can see, the layout is gorgeous and the detail is amazing. I love what you have done with it so far.

My only criticism (if you want to call it that) is that the city seems very suburban...is this your intent? If so, then Parkriver would make quite a successful riverside village for weathy sims. I just can't help but expect some sort of city (or something else to draw these suburbs to...perhaps a seaport, military base, etc.) near the area to support the growing community.

That missing factor aside, the canals and terraces give the area a very wealthy and upscale look. The seasonal trees make it look like an even more desirable place to live. You've done a very good job with what you have and it's too early to start over just yet. Your city is in a very good stage where it still could develop into anything you want. Keep working on it and keep building...you may end up with the greatest CJ on Simtropolis. 29.gif

to those of you out there who are anticipating a city soon i will have to admit that i deleted the one i had saved on my computer and for some reason or another i can not find the copy i made of it on a cd. i am going to try to go ahead with this cj, though, however i am going to have to use a new region and everything. i am going to use the same building style and what not... terraces and el train are goin to be seen and of coarse there is goin to be some things differant but i hope that all of you out there will like it. please stay posted for i will be posting sometime tonight or tomorrow because i am off. i am sorry all of you guys out there who liked this past one. i am going to try and make it have the same feel though. thanks to all
