Welcome to Leonhartia!

Friends! Romans! Lend me your eyes! Welcome to Leonia, founded only 50 years ago. But in that time, Leonia has grown into a strong little town, reaching close to 1000 people! Why, when the emperor last visited, he said it was the nicest town he had ever seen, outside of Rome of course. But enough about that, let's visit the town!

Here's a full view of Leonia. The town, farms, and docks can all be seen. Along with a small Mediterranean whale...hmm...moving on,,,

LeoniaFull1.jpg

Zooming in on the town, a mix of hovels, temples, stone, and wood houses can be seen, along with plazas and other monuments.

LeoniaTown1.jpg

A close up of the govenors mansion (right) and a small temple, surrounded by walls to create a bit of a last stand defence area.

LeoniaGovenersHouse.jpg

Over on the eastern side of the city, there is a small temple, surrounded by the hovels of commoners. Let's continue, these plebians are getting too close.

LeoniaPoorerArea.jpg

Back in the center of town, there are a lot of places to shop. One store even has a set of Chinese plates, all the way from the far east!

LeoniaTown2.jpg

Up a little ways north, we enter the farming areas of the town. You can see the walls built to hold off the occasional barbarian attack.

LeoniaTownEdge.jpg

More north of the walls.

LeoniaFarms1.jpg

And finally, some nice un-developed areas to the west of the town, across the water. (The town would be to the left in the top picture though...direction changing.)

LeoniaNature1.jpg

A small cove.

LeoniaNature2.jpg

And a region shot. No, I didn't finish the trees yet.

LeonhartiaFull1.jpg

Now, a special bonus fund has been created to be spent on a new project, and YOU the citizens get to decided what it will be spent on! So, just leave a comment saying what you would like to see done.

Either;

1. Build a bridge going west to connect to the other side of the river and expand the city that way.

2. Use the money to finance settlers to move north and build a new town.

3. Expand the ports to allow for more commerce.

Until next time!

Very nice start! This is one of the best neoclassical recreations on SimCity I've ever seen! I love the accuracy!

EDIT: First comment! 39.gif

Go for the bridge!

Is vultis valde bonus, Vilis Furta! Ego suffragium moveo denique subsido moveo septentrionalis.

Translated from Latin to English... more or less...

This looks very good, Chptrk! I vote to move finance settlers to move north.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Oh yea, I have to do replies now...I mean, yay! Replies!!

ComputerGuy890100 - Aww...shucks, thank you! I put a lot of work into accuracy (sorta 3.gif) and I'm glad you like it! One vote for bridge!

Blue Lightning - YAY I can't believe it! And and put it up too. 3.gif Ayup! Roman it is. 2 votes for teh bridge.

mightygoose - And we are in Rome, at least for now! Another vote for bridge? Yay! You guys do care...for me being able to take the easy way out... 3.gif

Larks2242 - Thanks Larksy! Heh, no kitty ruler, the king is completely human. I know, it's sad. nekogifj.gif

astronelson - Just pretend I responded with Latin, okay? 3.gif Thanks Astro! 1 vote for people north, got it!

DCMetro34 - Thanks DC! I guess I can't take all the credit for detail, a lot of that credit would have to go to the BATers who made the stuff. I just place it someplace and hope it looks good. 3.gif Another vote for bridge.

lucky7 - And I'll never let your attention go! Err...at least not for as long as I can hold it. 3.gif Another bridge vote, awesome! Well, a wooden bridge would look great, but saddly I wasn't able to find one. So we'll have to go with stone.

Wrightguy0 - Another vote for settlers! Well, as far as the town reaching the walls goes, always good to have some farms behind the walls, just in case. But your voice has been heard!

The votes are in, and it has been decided...

After counting the votes from the townspeople, (old CJ section) and the more distant farmers, (New CJ section) the totaly has come to...

8 total votes for building a bridge, 2 votes for financing settlers north, and 2 votes for expanding the port.

It's decided, a bridge shall be built!

I wonder if you have a bridge that will blend in with the rest of the content youre using for this town.

I'll check in again to see this bridge in action. 4.gif

    Replies,

Schulmanator - YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! If you're loving it, then I must be doing something right! And don't worry, Leonhartia is a province of Rome, kinda like Gaul. Just somewhere else... Not sure where yet. 3.gif

ComputerGuy890100 - Of course your vote counted, no corruption here! There might have been if a harder option had won, but anyways, hope you like the bridge!

DCMetro34 - Well you wont have to wait any longer, the update is tonight/tomorrow depending on how I'm feeling after these replies.

Archean - I think I got something that'll look good, here's hoping you think it fits well too!

    Blue Lightning - Ayup!

Simbourgeois - Why thank you! Yea, I should probably issue some statement about those carriages...umm... Okay, the lot editor doesn't like me too much, so I have to deal with whatever the BATer made. So let's all just pretend those aren't there, okay? And I'll pretend that I don't have embarrassing pictures of you all from the Christmas party...yea... 3.gif

Back on topic, glad you enjoyed the update, and I hope the next one brings back some Caesar III memories as well!

Chptrk - Hey there beautiful, forget to place your future table of contents placeholder after the first post often?

Victor Valdes - Don't worry Victor, it's always great to see you here! Glad you enjoyed your visit!

Larks2242 - Oh you will, you will. 38.gif

Kusajika Yachiru - Yea, no cars. No cars at all. Well, early steam engine developments did take place in Italy, let's just pretend it happened...a lot earlier. 3.gif Glad you like the setup, and if you aren't that big a fan now, hopefully I'll grab you in a few thousand years!

Petrovar Ambassador - Why thank you!

Whew, all those replies. Let's throw some pictures in here real quick. Here's the current view of Leonhartia, a province of Rome.

    LeonhartiaFull2.jpg

To the right, you can see the town of Leonia, as seen in the first update. Yes, I made a mistake, it's called Leonia, Leonhartia is the region. Sorry!

But on the left is the smaller settlement of Jessinia, as will be seen in the next update.

Along with building that bridge, a dirt road was laid down to connect the two towns. Travelers can move a little more safely, knowing to follow the path and they wont get lost.

That's it for now, the full update will probably be tomorrow. See ya all then!

    Welcome back to  Leonhartia!

The votes were counted, the money spent, and the bridge was built. Introducing the Leonian Bridge. (And my new water mod)

    Bridge.jpg

And with that bridge, the western side of the river began to develop.

    WesternSideEarly.jpg

It was then decided that the town would fund itself a barracks, to house some soldiers to defend the region from any possible attack.

The early stages of construction can be seen here, on the western side of the river.

    BarracksStart.jpg

Meanwhile, some citizens in Rome grew tired of the overcrowding and decided to sail to Leonia. The traveled West, over the bridge and through the forest, following the coast, until they reached an area near the foot of a mountain. They set up some shelters and started some farms, and decided to call the settlement Jessilina.

    EarlyFull.jpg

    Zoomed in on the town.

    EarlyTown-1.jpg

Over here is a small pond, used for various things. There are also some fallen trees, to be used for houses, tools, and fire.

    EarlyTownZoom1.jpg

    Another area of the village.

    EarlyTownZoom2.jpg

    A shot of the coast.

    WaterfrontEarly.jpg

Up at the top of the mountains to the west, is a river. It begins as a spring at the top...

    River1-2.jpg

...and then gently flows down the side of the mountain...

    River2.jpg

...until it reaches a pond at the bottom. Here's the full view of the river.

    Mountains.jpg

No votes on anything today, unless of course there is something you would like to see happen. Then just suggest it!

    Until next time!

    Replies,

Larks2242 - Why thank ya! I hope you liked this update!

penguin007 - Thanks! I've got some big things in mind, so stick around and enjoy them!

Blue Lightning - Wait no longer, up close stuff is right up there! ^

DCMetro34 - I know! I was amazed at how that turned out. Glad I'm not the only one.

ComputerGuy890100 - You'd better not break my bridge you! But that's a stone bridge, so you'd have to be pretty big to break that. 3.gif

    Daan300 - Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it!
