Because of the way Simtropolis works, it is very hard to change a username. It has only happened a couple of times before, usually because someone's name is too long.

Maybe this isn't the best way (according to ST rules), but you can create a new e-mail account and a new ST account; remember to abandon the old account...

But yes, name changes are very rare, and only for very special circumstances. The new email-new account thing should be fine. Its only misusing either that breaks the rules. At least to my (pretty extensive) understanding.

Just as long as it is appropriate you should be fine.

You are welcome to create a new account and discard the old one.

This is the easiest way to 'change your username'.

If you want to use your existing email then simply make a small change to the email in your old account and then you will be able to re-register with your old email.

It would also be helpful if you could PM a staff member to let them know that you have re-registered with a new username. This saves confusion or problems later on.

Sometimes people for a variety of reasons wish to re-register with a new account.

That is fine but please let us know either here in this thread, or via a private message to a staff member that you have registered a new account.

If you wish to keep your existing email then simply change it in the old account to something else before you register the new one.

Once your new account is up and running the old account can then be deactivated.

As long as people are up front and tranparent about what they are doing then there is no problem.

That's my name at all the other SC4 forums I frequent, so I'd like it to be the same here.

It is very hard to change your username, most of the time administration prohibits this. Your best option is to send a PM to one of the admins (SkiGeek, Zelgadis, Cheese89 for example), and request a username change. Good luck!
