Not sure if im posting this in the right forum, if not please let me know

I have reached the goal for receiving the bus menu.

When I have opened the menu up, there is nothing in it, no head office, terminal etc.  Am I missing something, or do I have a problem.39.gif

are you playing online or solo mode, you can only get the buses if you are playing online and the pop has reached 50, people.

am on solo at the moment.  How come you can't get them in solo mode and only online, seems a bit unfair to me

Because the only way Monte Cristo can get people to pay monthly for the PO is to rent extra content to them.

If they had public transit in solo mode, most of the subscribers would stop paying.

It is rather unfair, and poor business judgment.

They would probably make more money if they just sold content packs for $5- $10 on a regular basis, dropped the online portion of the game all together and made it so that you could trade between your own cities in solo mode. It was a bad idea to attempt to force a game genre that is not multiplayer into an MMO.

You can't use it in solo mode because you haven't paid for it. I for one hope that MC releases these content packs as DLC or mini-expansions for solo mode.

Mayor Mermekk had the same experience in SoloMode. He was so anxiously waiting for the buses to become available. Then when he finally got it unlocked, he found out it was an empty box. No buses. He was very dissapointed and no one has seen him around in town for a long time. Some say he hit the bottle and grew a beard and is now unrecognizably wandering along the jammed streets of his city.

I think something like buses is too essential to be left out in the fundaments of the game. I think it's a human right to have them available if you rightfully bought and own this game. I understand the marketing pov frm MC. And I will go online soon anyway when I have the technical ability to pay the protectionfee. But I want buses in Solomode too!

Although I do agree with you Mermekk, and probably and overwhelming amount of other mayors, that the bus addon is a very core feature that, at one point, was promised to all. However, I don't agree that the bus feature is a human right. You should read the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights

    To my knowledge it is. Atleast the one signed by Mermekk's grandfather Mermekk Senior, President of Coukania. To paraphrase a few articals implemented in this version of UDHR;

Artical 3: Everyone has the right to life, liberty , security of person and buses.

Artical 10: Everyone is entitled in full equality to a fair and public hearing by an independent and impartial tribunal, in the determination of his rights and obligations and of any criminal charge against him and buses.

Artical 19: Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression and buses; this right includes freedom to hold opinions and have access to buses without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers or lack of buses.

Artical 24: Everyone has the right to rest and leisure, including reasonable limitation of working hours and periodic holidays with pay and buses.

Artical 30: Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein and buses.

Oh, so that means we should have a bus stop where I'm from. I always thought suburbs were too low in density to be worthwhile, but apparently we have the right to buses!

I am still on the fence about getting this game. Are buses absolutely necessary to the running of a successful city? Or should I wait until if/when buses come to single player?

You should probably wait until buses come to single player. My city runs really well with the road network, and I don't even have proper highways (I have pretend highways but still work really well), but to solve traffic problems in the middle, I have a tunnel going directly from the city link to the centre.

Cities were taken to 20 million or so without the benefit of bus service or any mass transit.  My target population in my cities is about 2 miillion and I have no problems without buses.

Buses do no good for wealthy cities because only unqualifed and qualified workers will ride the bus. Bus lines are also more complex than SimCity's buses becuase you require a bus headquarters terminals and your own custom routes. Because of this large amount of complexity, MC wanted to make it Planet Offer exclusive for now. If they did simple teleportation buildings (allows people to go from one station to another without any complex infrastructure) it would be highly unreasonable for it to be PO only. As Asheroo already said, some sort of pack for mass transit might become available.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

    Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
