Hi there!

Ive been playing SimCity 4 for many years now, and I have in fact more or less given up on the terrain tool. Is there any plugin/mod/you-name-it that allows the user to customize the terrain such as in SimCity 3000?

That would REALLY help me out!

It's been way too many years since I played SC3000, so I don't know if it's comparable, but you might check out SC4 Terraformer. It is a LEX download on SC4Devotion, so you'll need to register there if not. It's more or less a separate program that allows the creation or alteration of region terrain.

SC4TF which you mention even allows you to design "custom terrain tools" which will behave exactly as you prescribe..

I was thinking about some more in-game tools.

If you want to have funtonality simlar to SC3000 in game, there is no way to do it. Becsue of how the game was made the only way a entire region can be editied is out of game. Do to limitations, this will always be the way it is.

There is a program that generates random terrains like SimCity 3000 did here but due to the above mentioned limitation it is out of the game,

Im thinking of a better way to make the landscape flat in-game. Its really hard to use the tool for making landscape flat with the tool that is in the game.

what are you considering 'hard' about the in-game tool?

you can hold down the shift key while using any terraforming tool in SC4 and it makes the radius of its effect much larger

I know, but if you touch a building, it removes the building =/ Its much easier to use the tool for making landscape flat in SC3000 in large cities.
