For the next Robbie Burns day, we'll need someone to address this, and make the first cut with his skean dhu.

 

For those of you who have been unfortunate enough to never have tasted the
'Great Chieftain O' the Pudden Race' (i.e. haggis) here is an easy to follow
recipe which results in a dish remarkably similar to the above mentioned
protected species.
    Ingredients:
      1 Sheep's Pluck (heart, lungs, liver) and bag
      2 teacupsful toasted oatmeal
      1 teaspoonful salt
      8 oz. shredded suet
      2 small onions
    1/2 teaspoonful black pepper

    Scrape and clean bag in cold, then warm, water.  Soak in salt water
overnight.  Wash pluck, then boil for 2 hours with windpipe draining over
the side of pot.  Retain 1 pint of stock.  Cut off windpipe, remove surplus
gristle, chop or mince heart and lungs, and grate best part of liver (about
half only).  Parboil and chop onions, mix all together with oatmeal, suet,
salt, pepper and stock to moisten.  Pack the mixture into bag, allowing for
swelling.  Boil for three hours, pricking regularly all over.  If bag not
available, steam in greased basin covered by greaseproof paper and cloth for
four to five hours.

Well, we don't serve coffee in paper cups, but you are certainly welcome to some while you wait for your curry.  We have various style curries and since you didn't specify, we offer you a sample platter in the form of an 11 boy Indonesian rijs tafel.  The sauces vary from vindaloo chicken to salee ghost.  Enjoy.  We can extend this service to 22 boys if you like.

Maple bacon curry is a new one on us, but we'll give it a whirl.  I hope it's OK.

Well I finally did it. I got myself a new laptop pc.... now all I need is sim city 4 rush hour. and can you still get gmax? I'm doing well. been a crazy week. question will the game work on windows 8.1? Oh and I got a new camera also.

Well, the answer is yes to Windows 8, with some serious cautions about Windows 8.1.  There are some good threads over in https://community.simtropolis.com/forum/5-sc4-bugs-technical-issues/ that basically solve most of the issues. Gmax remains available from Turbo squid free.

 

Watch the sales and get a new copy of SC4 from Amazon, GamersGate or GOG.com.  Avoid Origin and Steam as they put the files in funny places and you'll have trouble installing the BAT.  The new digital copy includes all the published patches and runs without a play disk.

 

Look around the forums, there are lots of how to get going threads that will help you review.

 

Now, how about a cup of cappuccino and some fresh biscotti in celebration.  I am going shopping for a new printer tomorrow.  I might get a new GPU as well.

Update:  Got my printer.  It is an all in one, of course, but as a printer the Canon MG2520 is just fine, thank you.  A couple of files had to be adjusted to fix margin problems that the old printer didn't have.

 

Currently experimenting with using the scanner/copier and have sent a query to Canon for the on-line manual since all their documentation seems to be aimed at Windows or smart phone users.  I have to disconnect some of my old gear, I suspect, before the system will recognize the scanner.  More blades for by Swiss army knife of an operating system.  The CD that came in the box was all about windoze.

No, you purchase SimCity 4 Deluxe from one of the on-line download vendors and it comes as build version 1,1,641.  This is fully patched and runs without a play disk.  Even if you pay full price for it, it gets rid of all the messing about with disks and patches forever, so it worth it to abate the aggravation.  I got mine from GamersGate.  When you download it for the first time be sure to grab the installation folder, and you'll have it forever.  Just write the installation folder out on a DVD or thumb drive.

 

I have this folder on my hard drive as well, and installation of a new instance of the game takes about five minutes or less if I need to create a new wine prefix (windows environment).

Easter is upon us.  So first of all, let's remember what tomorrow is all about if you are a Christian.  It's Good Friday, the day in which we remember the execution of the Christ.

 

Of course, the weekend is just packed with religious events, but in the end there will be a feast.  Here is the Moose Factory's
