This will be my first Journal for Cities XL!
There is going to be no plan to my city or anything, as I don't really know what I'm doing.

Northam opened up and after a few min's of working out the controls I invested into lots of farms! I didn't like the idea of having lots of little houses so I build apartments!

So far I'm making 20,000 per month and things seem to be going fine, check out the pics!

As my City has no plan? does anybody have any suggestions to what should happen next?6.gif

Mare, it's ok, but its not very realistic, with just some big skyscrapers with farms at the side.

Yeah its a lot more fun with no planning.

Too bad Im doing my accounting exams at uni now or else i would be playing 24/7. I have a new developed area in my city but its like a circle layout with lots of little roads.. kinda strange. I found that its cheeper to buy unskilled labour compared to recieving their taxes and paying for city services lol. Then you get the farms and trade the food for even more money.

See those orrange buildings in the 2nd pic, im making like a chinese style apartment estate with that type of building and some parks.

More or less, yea. But, it is much better than my CXL ones. I think I'm more of an SC4 guy.

Yeah I think SC4 is better in a lot of ways. I actually wish citiesxl had the same type of camera/interface as SC4. I think the whole 3D rotate thing is over the top for this type of game.

And while im on the topic, The cities XL city map should be limited to the entire world and you have to build around other peoples cities on a realistic scale. ... Maybe CitiesXL2 lol...

Yea, Cities XL is different in many ways, some good, some bad. But, I think I am still loyal to my SC4. Although, unlike some, I did give CXL a legitimate chance.

First start your city on a river or lake, unless it's Las Vegas!

Then start adding on just like a real city/town does with new suburbs keeping in mind to do some planning like real cities do.

Just google any city and take a look at how they have developed. Population is always denser in the center than the edges.

Have a central downtown core. Plan for industrial away from residential.
