Ok thanks for aswering. Another question ( ) How do you kep up with traffic? I have an industrial area and the traffic on the roads heading towards it gets busy extremely fast. My highway is already turning yellow.

I don't have a real good answer to that, I always use the one-way avenue's going each direction

After that, I build a highway which is going pretty well (deleted the one-way), it turns up yellow for me too.

Small update, number 14, after a long time not been playing CitiesXL

I have changed some contract's because of the new price (since that patch I didn't played anymore )

Only making a small profit I'm pushing the game towards 1.000.000 people. Hopefully I will be able to hit that number, as it would be the first time for me

A quick notification:

Ribbon City has been put in the 'freezer' for a while, until the buses come out for SP and hopefully trading between my own cities.

This would mean that after that, I can finally solve the traffic problems and also demolish all the dirty industry

 Hello everyone,

Ribbon City is back!  After a long time of silence in the city (3 months of inactivity) the mayor has returned.

In this time of silence, the mayor found new ways to manage the city, to fight pollution, public transport and making nice deals with Omnicorp. 

So, I will put some new stuff in the city, like the tree-mod, the buses and dealing with the pollution.

I will publish Update 15 on this Sunday, it will have some things like:

• Fighting the pollution
• Sorting out the contracts
• Placing some hardly needed bus-lines
• Reshape the city, putting high-density more together

I've been working on the city today, making good progress for update 15.

Destroyed many residential buildings and industry in order to reshape the city.

 

4 Bus-lines, all double-decker buses, are now used by almost 65%. It's got the Traffic (satisfaction) from 50% to 69%.

Those sidewalks are sweet looking, how did you get them? I didn't know there were mods for Cities XL already.

Welcome everyone, it's been a long time since the last update.

So, here is Update 15!.

With the release of the buses, the tree mod and the sandbox, I was now able to continue were I left off.

Many contracts have been changed, so the income has improved a lot. I'm buying more manu/industry from Omnicorp.

Around 25% of all the industry has been destroyed, 10% more offices have been build.

The population is at this moment 732.000, around 90.000 less then 3 month's ago. This is only for now, while I was reshaping the city.

3 Bus-lines are now active, all doube-decker, with a usage of about 75%. 2 Lines to the southern-industry, 1 Line to the Offices. Traffic issues are still in the city, although it only small.

I've done a good cleanup, destroying many roads which were not used. Destroyed some oil-fields.

With the new Tree Mod, I was able to fight the pollution by planting special forest's. This are ploppable trees in a small area, which have a cleaning effect. Problems with pollution for offices and high-tech are solved!

At the far left, housing at the other side of the highway. Satisfaction was very low so these have been moved back downtown, destroyed all of these housing:

To improve the quality of life in the downtown area, I've removed some skilled worker-homes to make parks:

Nice city -- one question is, why do you need that bridge across the lake -- it doesn't seem like it's necessary as it's not really connecting anything and there is another road that runs by the lake that serves the area.
