I'm back, been constantly emailing MC about me not recieving the product and only a empty envelope.

Anyway latest update is tonight i have lost all will to keep waiting on them for a responce. I have been waiting and constantly told that UPS ain't answering their emails or stuff.

I have requested a refund from them, its sad as i was really looking forward to it.

Mods: before you lock this, please let it run so we can give MC some handy tips when it comes to dealing with complaints

Why don't you email UPS yourself and explain the situation to them? It sounds like MC are trying to transfer the blame to them.

My envelope had a letter in it. Monte Cristo apologized for the delay. They said something about backorders and told me that my game should arrive soon.

He bought the game from MC, not from UPS.  He's MC's customer.  MC should somehow get the guy another copy of the game (either ship him another one or let him download it), then sort it out with UPS on their own.

If he's telling the truth, they've just taken good care of a customer and the goodwill will probably go towards making him a loyal customer.  If he's lying, they've just been duped for a copy of the game.  The upside is a lot bigger than the downside, IMO.

    I have emailed them asking for a refund so i can use those funds to go buy the game from my local store. I will definately still play the game , although i have to admit this whole episode has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

    I did consider contacting UPS, but MC said they were going to get back to me soon with an update, that was a week ago, so i have given up all hope of getting my copy, and such am now looking to pick it up in a store.

    The thread can stick around so long as the discussion remains thoughtful and respectful and the thread does not become simply another opportunity for people to take sniping pot shots against MC.

    Your frustration is understandable and reasonable.

    Not at all.  I don't think you're going through all this to get a free copy of the game.  I didn't mean to imply that either.  I was just listing both possible scenarios.

    Well when you think about it, there is absolutely no value to having a second copy of the game as it would not net a second account key. You could have 50 copies of the game but with only one key you can only use 1 copy. So if he is trying to scam, which I highly doubt, he would have to be pretty stupid. Hopefully MC steps up and gets him the software. Most likely he already has the key.

    Well that's really odd. As your key is emailed to you, not mailed or included on the box. You should key your spam folder, as you should have got your key before the box.

    I found my key in the spam folder also.  Good thing I didn't give them my spam email or I would've lost it forever. (Because I rarely ever check that email)

    A few days? I've been waiting about a week haha.

    It is so frustrating, as it looks like an awesome game, i played the demo none stop , so to still be waiting on a copy its a bit.. depressing! I was going to get the planet offer too, but if i pay for that, would i recieve it?

    I keep checking my email in the hope that they have replied and everything is sorted which leaves me to go and buy it from an alternate source, which is probably going to be D2D as they have the woolworth building in their copy!

    I am desperately trying to be patient, but 3 weeks or so after, with no resolution near, i feel its a bit much.

    Yeah just got email confirmation that they have shipped me a limited edition plus a full refund

    I only wanted the limited edition, so credit to MC for going the extra step.

    I got frustrated at times, but i'm thrilled at the outcome as i now have

    Yep. I've had the freebie offer too (came shortly after I told them that Trading Standards were on the case). Not all that optimistic about it ever arriving given the current mail strikes, but it's a nice gesture.

    Would have liked Limited Edition (and considered offering to pay the difference) but in the end decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth!

    So things are looking up for me too.

    What happened with you tom?

    I just asked if they could send me limited instead of standard, as i originally ordered limited, and i want the extra maps, they agreed, PLUS gave me a refund, which i was surpised about as i was quite happy just to get the game in the end. Still waiting on delivery though!

    Took them to the Dept of Trading Standards (and told the that I had) and they then agreed.  And gave me the game for free.

    Although not yet arrived.  Wish I'd asked to upgrade to LE as I also really wanted that one.  Would have been happy to pay.  May give them a ring onday and see whether they've dispatched yet.

    Heh. Asked today and they've already dispatched standard edition. Shame, but my fault!

    Nothing's arrived yet. I'm giving it about a 30% chance given the current postal strike and the general uselessness of Royal Mail even when they can be bothered to show up for work.

    My copy too hasn't arrived (but i have been busy anyway)

    I'm going to get Planet Offer as my friends are using it too, so i have somebody to trade with cheaply.

    Hope it comes tomorrow as i am free all this week!
