How come nothing of what is depicted in this screenshot/advertisement by Focus for Cities XL 2011 - can be built in the game??! The roads, the bridges... And the buildings... These buildings are very different from those in the game 42.gif

That picture doesn't depict a game-created city--it's an amalgamation of pictures of REAL cities (I'm inclined to believe). You can see both the John Hancock Center and one of the Patronaus Towers in there. But yeah, that's simply a pretty picture (Maxis has been doing it for years; remember the 3-D opening video of SC3K Unlimited?)

These are truly amazing. I am still waiting for my copy of CXL2011 and I am wondering if there is an option to save a building from further development ("make it historical") as in SC4D? All those pics just making me more keen on CXL2011 4.gif I like medieval buildings in cities. Unfortunatelly as I understand there is no city walls... 2.gif

I'm new here, but have played CXL2009 quite a bit, and have been playing CXL2011 for a bit now as well. I might start a CJ.

Here are some screen-shots of a city I recently done, even though its not finished. I know its grid, but I never usually do them, so I tested it.

You know you could have just unlocked all buildings (expert mode, or in the cheat menu) and looked yourself.

Anything else? 2.gif
