No one was ever able to confirm for me but I have since confirmed while playing the game lacks any sounds except music and when you click a building you hear a 3 second wav file.   No car traffic, no people, no wind, no bird, no city - nothing but the sound of silence.....   What a game killer - MC I hope you plan to add this in.

I get the same thing. Absolutely no sound other than the interface and the music, turn the music off done click anything and I might as well turn my speakers off. I thought this was odd. Even odder since I found a "Background Sound" option in the menu that seems to do bugger all.

Does anyone else get this? What o/s you got rss334? I am on Vista 64

If you guys are talking about the final version than it's confirmed what was discussed several times during the entire beta, 3 months and a half ago: The game has no ambient sound. Just music and interface sounds.

I believed that a separate game version was being prepared by MC during the beta and the gold version would be more complete and polished, but in the end they released the same unfinished beta client that everybody was testing with few cosmetic changes.

That's the kind of "mistake" that's plain unexcusable. Bugs and etc. is one thing, but releasing a game without the most elementary characteristic of a game is just surreal.

If major gaming reviews sites/magazines like Gamespot and IGN caught this, the metascore of this game will be ruined for good.

So what do you have to do to hear sounds?   The only issues I encountered during installation was the .net framework 2.0 install, said it was not compatible with vista 64.   I don't hear any sounds other then when you click on some building....   Sounds would solve one of my major complaints with the game - any ideas?

I've turned music off and still nothing.

OK thanks - I thought maybe it was user error on my part, thanks for the confirm.  What a game killer!

Unbelievable, I know and accept the launch of MMO's are generally quite turbellant but this is the first one I know which was released without sound effects. Dont MC know that high quality graphics is only half the equation, sound is just as vital.

Well hopefully this is one of the things they will sort quickly after release. My only worry is if this was the same in beta and people have already fed it back then why still no change =(.

Wait, there is interface sounds which include the sound when you click on a building. If you aren't hearing ANY sound, interface clicks, etc... THEN it's a technical issue.

Still the game doesn't have ambient sound (street noises, birds, wind, people walking, etc....) only music and some lame interface sounds.
