Sim City 4 Rush Hour or Deluxe?

Hi all, i have Sim City 4, i bought i think 2003, when it was realeased.
I think it's getting boring and i want to download mods and all that stuff, like ponds, canals, snow, seawalls,
custom train stations, etc. but that dosen't work on my Sim City 4.

Someone on here said that most of that only works on Deluxe and Rush Hour.

btw: i want to make awesome regions like this:

Soo, which game should i get, Rush Hour or Deluxe??
and also, if i get a newer Sim City, can import the old cities into there?

SC Deluxe is only SC4 + Rush Hour in the same package; there's absolutely no difference between it and buying SC4 and Rush Hour expansion separately.

That being said, Rush Hour by itself is extremely hard to find nowadays, so you're probably better off with just getting the Deluxe edition. You can still use all your old cities and regions, but if you do get the Deluxe version, it might require that you uninstall the vanilla SC4, which might end up deleting your regions. I would suggest backing up your regions (copying them somewhere outside of the SC4 folder). If you do happen to find Rush Hour by itself, you won't have to worry about it.

Well, it might be cheaper just to buy Rush Hour since you already have the first Simcity4. When I bought it, I got it in like, I'm not sure, '04 or '05, but I just bought Deluxe, not Simcity4 then Rush Hour Expansion. Simcity4 was amazing and I became addicted to it. I'm not sure, but I think just buying Deluxe would be the same as installing Rush Hour Expansion. Deluxe is just Simcity4 with the expansion pack allready installed to it. So it might just benifit you more to just get Rush Hour, since doing that can keep your old citys. But, I think getting Deluxe, you won't have your old cities, and couldn't just import them into the Deluxe one. I'm not to sure, I never had to try it.

So, if I were you, I would just get Rush Hour. Either way, you can get the amazing custom content of Simtropolis.

Its simple,

SC4 Rush hour is in fact a EXTENSION PACK that was a result of the game being released too early, so you would have to get SC4 + RH to get the full lot.

Deluxe is simple both of them together in the same case, easier and in most cases cheaper.

@ the region question...There is a program you can get to do that, im not sure what it is but maybe the next person can tell you. (either its that or someone spent a LONG time making that in game)

Finally, to put the cities onto the new game all you have to do is

1.copy the folder that the city is in (this will be named after the region that it is in) that can usually be found in documents-Sim city 4-Regions.

2. Paste that folder somewhere else where it will be safe

3. Install the new game

4. Copy and paste that folder into the same place that it was before (documents-Sim City 4-Regions)

Since the Rush Hour expansion pack is hard to find in stores today, you may want to check out web sites like Amazon.com for the game.

Ok, Awesome thanks for the tips of saving the cities! I think i'm going to get Rush Hour, i searched around a little and found an onlinesite where i can buy it, thanks again!

When you uninstall the game, you will have the option to save, or delete the custom content, that would include regions, and the plugins.

Get Rush Hour, because you have the first release. And besides, SimCity 4+Rush Hour=Deluxe.
