Ridiculous Question

In thy451's article he describes what he calls the "Simtropolis Patch" I have tried to locate this particular file. But am unable to find it. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you provide a link to the article you mentioned? Possibly we might get a clue of what's meant by the simtropolis patch.

Keep in mind that that article is pushing 10 years old.. .. that patch is way past out of date... Once you get the EA patches all properly installed and the NAM, I'd suggest generally you're done with the exception of the custom content which you may optionally desire. He suggests some reporting patches, etc that still may apply.. In general I'd say that if the link to the item you read about in the THY451 articles is "broken" that it is out of date. The game has come a long ways in the time since then.. It would be nice if someone would do an update of the THY articles.. they are excellent

If it's that old it isn't even for SC4 as SC4 only came out in 2003. My suggestion would be to look at places that have abandonware for anything on earlier editions of the game. Only one I ever played besides SC4 was the original back on my old Commodore 64 (I don't consider Societies to be a real SC game.)

I did manage to isolate what the patch was designed to accomplish, and it appears that the original mentioned by thy451 is indeed defunct. The replacement most resembling such is the NAM, which I have downloaded and is incredible. My hats off to you gentlemen for your assistance.

all the up-to-date patches for sc4 can be found at http://simcity.ea.com/update/index_update.php . don't think that any years-old patch will be that useful anymore.(Though, as far as I know, the EA patches are very old too, don't miss me, though, they still should be used.)

Are you sure that it's an acutal patch? I would take the term "Simtropolis Patch" as required updated content such as the NAM, not an actual patch.

It was only called that because in the old (early) Omnibus thread by THY451, it was a) available only on ST and authored by an ST member, and b) it was linked through a hyperlink called "Simtropolis Patch". .. there's not much more to it than that
