The AUD is slightly above CAD$1.000 now, and that was above USD$1.000 recently.

EDIT: It seems it depends on who you ask - we may have briefly reached parity on Friday night. My source peaked at about $0.998 or $0.999.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Your currency would have to be pretty devalued in order to remain worth less than ours because of all devaluation of our currency by our government for the "greater good" but if your country does not do that, your values should soar above ours.

I really need to go to bed. It is quarter to three now.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I learnt something today.

An ounce of gold weighs more than an ounce of feathers, but a pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold. Why? Gold is measured in troy ounces and pounds (as are other precious materials), while feathers (and other normal things) are measured in avoirdupois ounces and pounds. The avoirdupois ounce is less than a troy ounce, but there are 14 avoirdupois ounces in an avoirdupois pound and only 12 troy ounces in a troy pound. If the ratio between troy and avoirdupois pounds was greater than 14/12, this wouldn't be the case, but it's less than that, so it is the case.

With some crude maths I believe that we could bet on reaching 10,000 on the 13th of December. However, with a slightly more accurate method of prediction, taking the last 30 days posting average, which only is one and a half more than the overall total) I think that we may reach it by the 9th of December. My guess is on the 9th, but the averages I am using aren't what the actual average should be. Although, one and a half posts each day is the difference between the 9th and the 13th. But what I will say is that it should happen before the end of the year, and probably even christmas, maybe not before december though.

My dad still uses stone, and I think may parents' bathroom scale gives your weight in stone and pounds, in addition to kilograms.

In other news, I'm watching old opening sequences from ABC Kids shows. That's Australian ABC.

It's not a clone. "American Broadcasting Company" and "Australian Broadcasting Company" simply both end up shortening to "ABC", by coincidence. And neither has any relation to "Already Been Chewed".

Just another TLA.

But relative to the distance between star systems, the US and Australia are fairly close to each other.

The Australian ABC (1929) actually predates the US ABC (1943). So if anyone's a clone, you are of us. 3.gif

I rather liked the movie. I had it on VHS and I don't know where it's gone off to now though.

^ Indeed, and the guys behind digimon didn't even try to make it look different from Pokemon. C'mon, there are seven letters in both names. They could at least have named it "Awesomemon" or something like that, just to make it sound a little cooler3.gif
