Well a computer can do a lot, but not everyone owns a specialized computer for gaming. A gaming console is focused on gaming only and therefore runs its processes more efficiently. A computer has to run all the other things it has to do as well, while gaming consoles run on a specialized OS on a specialized BIOS.

3615. I had a computer, but every three months I had to update this, update that, install this, get more memory, expand HD. I also bought a good graphics card for it and it worked great. But I was tired of fooling with it, so I bought a ps3. The updates you have to do are only about 1 to 2 hundred MB and that's for playing online, which is a must. And it's just so much more simple and easy to use than a computer. You could use a computer. But I prefer not to spend $800 to $1000 on a good computer. Plus the hardware is about another $100.

My computer was a great gaming computer when we got it, in 2006... now its nothing compared to any other computer (however runs WAAAAY better than my 2007 laptop)

My computer was bought in 2007. And it can play C&C3 without any lag. But it's a bit lag when playing COD4 Modern Warfare.(They were come out in 2007 )

3619. I agree. And if you get good stuff it works great. But it was just more of a hassle and more expensive for me to use a computer for gaming rather than a console. I just prefer to keep gaming off of my computer and use it for music recording, music composition, itunes, and stuff like that. And unfortunately schoolwork too.

My computer, which is actually my sister's old computer, is from 2006. She went and got a Macbook and then no longer needed it. Not long after, my old computer (from 2005) died, and I took her old one.

It's a hand-me-up.
