Some interesting stats from my trixie nomination notepad...

Total number of nominations made - 53

Total number of ad hoc nominations accepted - 7, or around 13.2%.

Which ones were those?   Couldn't possibly say.      But I know which ones they are.

Allow me to suggest a color scheme... since orange is an early favorite... perhaps orange and white would work?

the color combo looks great and is suitable for a day in the office and a night on the town.

There is one special trixie that he won last year, that had previously been won by the same person for all the previous years, but caused a major "upset" last year...   oh and he has posted already in this thread.

Oh and that archive guy got a MOTM last year for his archive..  click on his trophy sometime.

Hmm, omnibus houses previous trixie winners, I'll have a look. I do know that Dirk always got he 'Best Dirktator' award, but I don't think it is him. The other one, the profile info doesn't help other than that he/she has joined 3 days before you did, while having less posts.

Edit: Read through thread, I see blade2k5, but I don't see how a blade could be cozy, and that's it, the rest either are mods, or have only 1 trixie, or multiple for different things.

To the wiki-team: The 2006-2008 trixies aren't up yet, any progress on that front as they currently can't be found anywhere.

How about.... red and blue? I don't think that combo has been done yet, but I could be wrong since there's no handy list of the different Trixie colours yet (or is there?)...

Since we've already had gold and purple, why not gold and silver?

edit: Green and white was suggested as a colour combination - we've already had that in 06.

Though there's nothing stopping us from having green and gold or red and white.

Well the trixes are usually at the end of the year.   2008 was a little unusual because they were delayed until the beginning of this year, and actually came out around  Februrary.   Give or take the nominations are usually around November, and the trixies are awarded in December.

Once Trixie season starts proper the there is a huge link on the homepage to make nominations in various catergories, like Best CJ, Best Bat, Best Kiwi Moderator...   that kind of thing...   click on peoples medals to see what they got them for.

You can only nominate a particular member for one catagory / trixie so you need to choose wisely and carefully.   However you can nominate as many different members as you like.

If there is not an existing catagory that fits your idea, then you can just make your own.   These are known as 'Ad Hoc' trixies can are usually unique to the person that gets them.

An example of an Ad Hoc trixie is my "Bouncing is what Tiggers do Best!" Trixie.    You can basically let your imagination run wild and if the Trixie Faries like your idea it may well be used.

Trixies are basically a fun way to say thank you to members in the community for the contributions that they have made during the year.

While a thread like this one is fun to speculate and have a bit of fun and chatter...   asking outright for a trixie or saying what or who you are going to nominate spoils the suprise and would virtually guarentee that your idea will not be used.

Unfortunately you can not nominate yourself...   believe me people try it... but the Trixie Faries can not be fooled.   Nuh uh, no way, no how.
