Uploading to the STEX (something that gets rated well mind you) is the best source of points, that's primarily why I have 2784 more then my post count (The CJ helps and so does well-thought-out comments on the STEX).

On the first pages a discussion was held about it, it was that the amount your comment was rated, was added to your amount of points. I don't know if negative rated comments are subtracted, or just ignored.

Than why don't you test it? Make a comment, and see if your point count has been changed, thanks to the comment. Then down rate your comment, and see if your point count has been altered. If it has, then we know that down rating a comment decreases your amount of points. Ofcoure, please link me to the comment, so I can afterwards rate it back up, or you just delete it/ask the uploader to delete it. The later would also allow us to see if deleted comments also affect your point count.

Well, discovered a new dashboard smiley there, it would seem. That brings the total up to seven of them....

The first one you start with. The second you switch over to somewhere before 678 points (I'd guess either at 101 or 501). The third is at 5001 points, the fourth at 10001, the fifth presumably at 15001. The last two... I don't know if they're used. Perhaps they're for if you are not a "member in good standing"?

Not, they'd just would have a negative rating. That could happen if one made STEX comments, all of which being rated negatively. Don't know if negatively rated comments reduce your amount of points though, it would need to be tested. Anyone willing to be a test subject? Though, I could of course make a clone, and use it only for this test.

1000 point mark was reached on 13 November 2009, which was 98 days ago. This means an average of 10.204 points/day. Since I hardly post in the new CJ section, or in the Blog section, or make STEX comments, my (recent) points/day ~ posts/day. Since most of my 100 posts times were 9 days long, with only recently this period dropping, it seems I was at a steady rate for most of the time. Regards, Korot

My points are high compared to most of the posts here, does that mean I'm a *Good Guy* ??...little confused....??...lol...well, it said that the points are for *good* acts, no? So what did I do *good*?

Could someone make that really clear please?

The point system tells how much you contribute to the site whether it's though uploads to STEX, commenting in CJs ect. The more points you have the more you have added to the community. Your points are higher because you have contributed more to the site then everyone else.

The name of the image file. Mine, for instance, is "smiley-cool". Just look at the default name when you go to "save as":
