Help with the Dual Core fix

On this website there is a solution for random crashes for people using Vista and Dual Core.

I have been looking into this solution to fix my crashes and tried to use it.

The problem is that the fix requires you to download an image file, however this file is no longer hosted, and I cant find it anywhere else.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get this file. I'm eager to play Simcity 4 again, and I cant until I have fixed these crashes.

This is the page with the fix on it

That fix is actually a file taken from the Microsoft Admin Resource kit.. not for that game. I find based on my experience that Intel Dual Cores don't have the problem. Only AMD's. If you have an AMD dual core, go to the AMD web site and download the "Dual Core Optimizer" patch and you won' t have to bother with that anymore.

Not to argue , but your partly right. A lot of users with dual core Intels do have a issue , the AMD fix works basically for users that don't run Vista or Win7 , but I am using a Quad AMD and tried both the AMD optimizer and the dual core fix. In my case , the dual core fix has worked better than the AMD way.Just to elaborate , I know SC4 is prone to random crashes , just been getting more since I stepped up to a mulitcore setup. I tried the AMD dual core just in case, but still had them so after the umptenth time I decided to try shutting 3 of the 4 down to see , and so far so good.

What OS are you running? Are you copy/paste all the info? If so , I would just type it out.

It took me a few times but I was using this tutorial:
