SC4 Deluxe + NAM (PC Version)

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster.....

Anywho, I finally got SC4 Deluxe and installed it on my sons' computer (won't work on mine.  Another thread).  I downloaded NAM and went to install it, so I double clicked on the .zip file to open it.  A dialogue box comes up and says [sic]"Please insert the last disc in the multi disc pack to continue".  Well, there's only 2 discs for SC4 Deluxe, and I tried both of them but the dialogue box won't go away. 

I can't get the NAM to open and do it's install thing.

Any thoughts?

Try removing the NAM installer from your computer, make sure the last CD (Disc 2) is in your drive. Then re-download the NAM and try the installer again. Sometimes it needs to be refreshed in order to work.

Well, I had to put the NAM on a flash drive because my son does not have an internet connection.

Is that a problem?

It shouldn't be.

As long as Disc 2 is in the tray and the NAM installer is extracted from the USB Flash drive, the installation should be successful.

Hey there, since were talking about this NAM i have just downloaded it just b4 there and i can not unzip this file its telling me that its currupt and end of archive?? so that means that theres files or a file missing god knows how but thats the beef im having with this download. It could be that i aint got the right tool to open it? any ideas cause i have ran out, cheers

Beanbagz, redownloading it should fix your problem.

Did you put the patches and updates on after you loaded it? Most of the custom material REQUIRES that your game be fully updated.. There used to be a thread by Greyveil that showed a step-by-step procedure to properly install and update it. I don't know if its still around.. maybe in the Omnibus?

First before downloading SC4D did you defragment your hard drive and turn off backgroud tasks. The manual tells you to do both of these before installation of SC4D. After downloading SC4D you then need to load the update and other files found on the offical Simcity4 website, (or at the SC4 Devotion site). Hi, to clarify a bit, it doesn't matter which SC4 Plugins folder you use, either the MyDocs/SimCity4/Plugins, or the ProgramFiles/Maxis/SimCity4Deluxe/Plugins.  It will work in either of those locations.
